Jeep Cherokee EV conversion

I'm going to try and arrange a visit to the company that made a 640 BHP electric four wheel drive BMW mini to see if the system can be made to work for offroad use and to find out how much it costs.

I'm thinking...
Electronically engaged planetary gearbox on each wheel motor with two reduction ratios.
High beam axles connecting wheel motors with no diffs - even better than conventional portal axles.
Central tire inflation.
Four wheel steering with the ability to reverse motors on one side of the vehicle for turning on the spot.

Folks, you may want to try contacting Nick directly through his website. This thread's been dormant for over a year-and-a-half and he last logged in on 07-24-2005.

I'm just curious about what happens if you get into a wreck or roll it with all those lead-acid batteries in there. That might kinda suck with battery acid flying everywhere.
Also, I wonder how much the structural crash integrity is compromised by removing the giant hunk of iron in the front of the vehicle.
