I guess this is the right forum. Today at the "Off Road Expo" (So. Cal.) my XJ was stolen. I hope they enjoy it, Lord knows I have. It has tube doors so I'm sure it will be ditched quickly, kinda hard not to grab attention with no doors. It was on "E" too so maybe they ran out of gas befor they got it where they could strip it. Really not much to strip, cut fenders and all.
I did keep all of my tools in it so they's a bonus for them. I had my "60"inch HL on top though, sucks. When they pull the winch it'll be really hard to drive, it was a hydraulic MM, good for me. Maybe they'll roll it and not total/torch it... Then I could get it back, chop the top and be good to go...hey, a guy can dream, can't he?
Trusting God has something better waiting for me, it's out of my hands.

M.I.A. Sticks out like a sore thumb.
Lifted '89 XJ, flat black/yellow diamond plate, sans doors.

Damn man, I'll be on the lookout for it. :(

What's the plate number?

Yelling is not needed. ;) (all caps)

Usually, stickies tend to get ignored. Active posts get more attention. However, if this post start dropping down the page, we may make it a stick post.

Feel for your loss, hope you get it back. Maybe even in good shape, and with more fuel than you left it.

We'll make sure to keep this post active.

I agree wtih Forum Fixer Dave, especially because lately we've had a lot of stickies with the Moab event, so everybody is trained to just ignore them.

If I see this (and frankly I doubt it because I'm a city boy) I'll be calling teh cops and you, I also will be tailing the f$@#er until they arrive!

I got a card on my Jeep for So Cal XJ .com, and I just wanted to be sure that it was either SOCALXJ or someone else from here and not someone casing the parking lot for a Cherokee. And I will also keep an eye out.

thanks

Thanks for the condolences guys. This is the first time anything like this has happened to me, what a drag. Thank God it was paid off, my fault for only having PD&L.

That does indeed suck. Whoever took it more than likely headed immediately for some private off-road joyriding spot that's already littered with the hulks of other vehicles they and their buds have stolen. They'll run it out of gas, take everything that's not welded to the frame, and walk away.

However, at least you weren't carjacked, so we have that small favor to be thankful for.

Be of good heart. As you wrote, there's something better waiting with your name on it.

wow!

You're much calmer than I would be.

I had my junk broken into when I was away, they took some stereo stuff, tools, recovery equipment and some CDs.

I wanted to find them and beat them within an inch of their lives.

Kudos to you man for keepin a cool head. I think I'd have an aneurism if someone stole my junk (can't happen right now, it doesn't run. they'd have to tow it :D )

I'll keep an eye out...

I'm in San Diego. I'll keep an eye out for you. They may try to get to the border.

That sucks...I wish someone would steel mine. :) It's allways on the top 10 list for most stolen cars, I allways leave my windows down, and my ignition doesn't require a key...yet it's still sitting there leaking on my driveway every morning.
