I've decided to keep her. Major decisions...

Mind giving a measurement to the drivers side door sill on Old Blue? I'm gonna do the same thing for me to check out the RE 3.5 lift height before I make a decision on lift.

I texted my kid and he came up with a measurement of 21.5" from ground to driver's side door sill, lower edge, flat part, er...where the plastic kick plate is...got it?

I had a friend measure his Jeep with a 4.5" lift and 32" tires. He has a measurement of 22.5. That seems low to me. He complains of tire rub up front.

Thanks!

Excellent progress for today, Jan 15. I picked up my Advance Adapters SYE and CV driveshaft, then bought 4 BFG 33x10.50x15 A/T MT KM2's. Drove home and promptly ordered 5 Cragar 15x8 Soft 8 rims from SummitRacing.com. My pockets are empty and my bank account is over 2k lighter.

It was a very good day.

4 tires and 5 wheels? Am I missing something here?

Also, do you plan on going with wider tires in the future? If not, I'd consider using 15x7's with those 33x10.5 MT's. That's my plan anyways...

Bought one extra rim for a spare and am hoping to safe a few bucks by finding a used 33" tire. I don't plan on installing the lift for another few weeks so that gives me some time to search.

I think the 15x8's are good for the 10.5" tire. I'm running the same rims on the other XJ with 31x10.50x15 and they look good.

I spent 5 hours on the SYE installation today and am only about a third of the way done. I had three unexpected trips to the parts store and an finally making some good progress. Called it a night right at the point where the rear cone is pulled. Man, I hope tomorrow is better. Today kicked my butt.

When I'm done, I will post a list of hints that I hope somebody finds useful.
