It's nice to get GOOD news for a change...

Hey Jon, I'm glad everything is going well. From what I understand, usually any type of hypertension reaks havoc on the kidneys. It's great that there was no more bad news.

Yah. Although the cardiologist was more worried about sclerosis of the renal arteries - but those are just fine as well. Everything was good, the tech was actually a bit impressed with my kidneys (and a few minutes of conversation had her thinking I was at least a PA!) and she was kinda cute (I'm married, I'm not dead. My favourite artists are John Moses Browning, John Cantius Garand, Eugene Stoner, and God. God gave us women, the rest gave us guns that work.)

So yeah, the only "side effect" from the HTN is the epiretinal membrane that the optometrist noted (who is also kinda cute...) which isn't affecting my vision in any way anyhow. If I can keep this downward trend in my weight going until I get down to about 240-245#, I'll be happy (257# a week ago, down from 264#. I'm workin' on it, but it's hard to exercise when it hurts to move...)

John, your MIL has been dying for half a decade now, there is a strong possibility she will out live you so get ready for it....:roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

Don't get me started...

Good thing about this is that it does speak well of my wife's longevity - the seventeen-year difference between us will likely even out, unless we're lucky enough to go together in a joint disaster somewhere.

And, my wife does a rather better job taking care of herself - one point we both agree on mightily, "It's better to wear out than to rust."

But, if I don't get a break from the MIL, I'm going to have to harm someone rather severely. My BIL's wife is already trying to weasel out of having her visit (I'm sure she's more of a problem than he is, but the fact that he won't pull his pants up and stand up straight is a problem anyhow. I may not be one to run right over my wife, but there have been a couple of times where 'this is the way it is going to be!' Fortunately, I've not had any trouble nor argument.

(Having her mother move in was initially meant to be temporary, but we all know how that works. I know - I shouldn't have let it happen. It set a bad precedent... But, I'm not going to have her shuffling off on my watch if there's anything I can do about it - at least when she does go, my conscience will be clear, and no-one will be able to bitch at me about it...)

My fathers mother, my grandmother, moved in with us when she was 62, she outlived both my parents then went to live with my fathers brother, my uncle, in Ohio, she damed near outlived him too. She was Polish and blackfoot from the montana side of the family.
