Is this a good deal on an AR15?

1700 rnds at .35 a round is $595
1700 rnds at .18 a round is $306 (I reload .223 at or slightly below this price)

So yea, depending on if it is factory loaded ammo or his homebrew stuff it could very there. Hopefully it is not Wolf or Tula Ammo.

As far as the rifle it looks like a standard M4 clone. I would pull the carrier and look it and the bolt over. As long as the gun is not beat to hell it is a good deal.

Olympic is not a Tier One super awesome rifle, but at that price who cares. Especially if it is your first one.

I figured so, just hadn't heard of Olympic Arms before. I was either gonna build one or buy a bushmaster.

I would build instead of buying, other than this deal. And I would stay away from bushmaster when buying. Better options out there for the money.

Building an AR is really easy. You an save a lot of money just by building the lower and then buying an upper. The upper can be a little more of a pain, but only because you need a few specific tools.

I got a great deal on an armalite stripped lower a while back and built my franken-rifle off it. I want to build another soon, from an 80% complete lower forging so there would be no trace...

Thats what I was going to do if i built one. I offered my swiss k31 and 200 rounds plus cash for it so I will get him some pics. he said there is federal and wolf ammo. I've never had a bad experience with wolf but its cheap ammo, you never know with cheap ammo.

Good deal, you can't build it for that price.

"Building" an AR isn't really all that much fun, they're just lego guns. Now an AK can be fun since it involves metalwork.

I need to find an affordable AR-10 80%'er. Then I can start to have fun again!

Check out TacticalMachining.com and CNCguns both good sites. TM sells both jigs and 80% lowers, CNCguns sells a nice jig setup, I bought their drill and Mill jigs. Now that I am stationed back near home me and dad are starting to get back into shooting together a lot.

The ruski's are just really anemic with their loading. My gun does not like to cycle wolf with the original recoil spring and carbine buffer. If you shoot a lot you should reload anyway. It is really easy, and I already broke even on the equipment and startup costs.

I am still unpacking from this PCS move. Got my gun/reloading bench setup, but most of my shop stuff is still packed up. When I get the garage setup I am gonna do an AK reciever. It looks like some good fun.

I have had a great time with my current project gun. 1934 hex Mosin Nagant. It lives in a boyds stock and I spent a lot of dremel time on the action and trigger. Scope mount and bent bolt are supposed to be here friday.

God I love jeeps and guns

As much as like love my AR I wanted to be able to shoot a little more cost effective.Just built this, its based off of 10/22 parts. At 3 cents a round vs 35-45 cents its a blast to take out!

I wanna know what kit it is and how to build it. Looks like a fun toy.

Why does anyone NEED a gun like that?

Those should be illegal

A gun like what? The OP was asking about a AR-15,hope you are not basing your opinion just on looks(a .22 compared to a .223).We were out shooting at the range a few weeks ago and one of the guys had a folding stock on his 10/22 and I just liked the look and wanted a "birthday present to Me".After some searching I found a new twist and exercised my rights.

I will be 52yrs old this year and grew up on a farm.I used to hunt and grew up with guns.I actually stopped hunting over 25yrs ago out of respect to animals and the planet. On that same note I enjoy my 2nd ammendment rights as I love shooting as much as 4 wheeling and fight to my rights to do both.If youv'e never gone out and tossed some "clays",you have no idea what youv'e been missing!
BTW:its legal(as in all ATF forms completed and this is not a class 3 weapon)

Those are assault weapons and have no place in untrained civilian hands!

Coexist now!
