Is there a list of supporting vendors somewhere?

I have done a search, several different ways, and poked around in the vendor area, but I am not finding what I am looking for.

It seems there should be a list of supporting vendors. It would be of benefit to both the vendors and the members. But I am not finding such a creature. Does it exist? Or is it just a function of tribal knowledge?

And of course, now I have another question...

As I look at the links, and pursue the links, there is nothing to indicate anything about discounts. (Yes. I am a money-grubbing penny-pincher. Guilty as can be.)

Having just placed an order with Brown Dog I went and searched and hopefully correctly found that placing NAXJA in the promo code box is good for a 10% discount. But that got me thinking, now that I am an official member here, how do I make good use of this benefit. Finding the list of vendors gets me pointed in the right direction. Now the next question, do they all work the same way with discounts? Use "NAXJA" for 10% off? Or how do I find out?

Sorry to be the newbie with the probably dumb questions.

No they don't all use the same discount code. Most of the time if a NAXJA vendor has a discount code you can find it in their sig or Vendor's Marketplace.

If all else fails send the vendor a pm asking if there is any available discount.

Good thread...Some of us might forget about this. Can some Vendors chime in on this? Most of them are on here quite a bit. Although, I don't know how often they are in the SoCal section. Maybe move the thread to the Vendors area? I'm a newb too so I dunno if that's OK with the OP or not...:dunno:

It's okay with me if someone wants to move it. I would just like to know where it goes if it goes...

I wasn't entirely sure where the question belonged.

On the one hand it would be nice to have a list of vendors and what they offer. On the other hand I can see the potential for a maintenance challenge as well as the possibility that non-members may try to take advantage of what is supposed to be a "paid for" privilege. The burden of authenticating users would likely fall on the shoulders of the vendors and they may not want that extra detail in their process.

On yet another hand there is marketing potential for both NAXJA and the vendors.

I'm not the one to make any of the calls. I'm just the new guy trying to figure out how the system works. And from what I have seen it does indeed work. Fixing it may open up a can of unwanted worms. I don't want to be the guy that started that snowball rolling.
