I find the burka law interesting. On one hand, I say let them have their burkas. If they choose to subject themselves to that, so be it. But on the other hand, I can see where it could be a problem if someone were to conceal themselves under a burka, pretending to be a Muslim woman, and then rob a bank or commit some other crime. There'd be no means of identifying them. Do you make a law restricting the practice of that particular part of a religion in the interests of law and order (not saying the scenario I presented is all that likely) or avoid interference and take the chance?
Also, blocking the streets with their prayer? There's no need for that. The only reason that they could possibly have is to show their power. I doubt that there are that many Muslims in that concentrated area who happen to be walking down the road at the time for prayer. Do your 5 time a day prayers, fine. But do them in a mosque, in your home, heck even in the grass or somewhere not in the middle of the road or sidewalk where non-Muslims are moving about.
I found the wine and pork protests held by the French to be quite humorous. "You wanna block our streets with your prayer? We'll wave pork and wine at you!"
And the Muslim woman they interviewed. "The veil is in the Koran, we submit only to God" as she is speaking to a presumably male interviewer with no male family escort and her face uncovered. But then, she was pretty, can't hide that beautiful face, right? Oh wait, doesn't the Koran say something about pride, especially amongst women?
