Well I remember when the writers strike went down last year, and JS tried to do a show and it wasn't very good.

But its comedy people, JS makes some serious points but he has said over and over again that his show is not serious and people shouldn't take what is said on his show to heart.
I think there was a pretty big thread when George Carlin died about how everyone thought he was great. He made all sorts of political jokes especially towards the end. His sh*t was great.

Have you ever listened to Rush? I mean yea, he's funny sometimes but his show's certainly not meant to be funny. Never the less, Rush presents arguments based on FACTS, and Stewart pokes fun based on fallacies for the most part.

Satire is the type of comedy that requires intelligence and not just delivery. It's not necessarily John Stewart, but his writers that need to be on top of the game.
