I am building a dual purpose rig. I am going to pull the interior to do the cage. I want to re do it when I put it back together. I want to build a race style interior with creature comforts. What have you guys got? Has anyone got anything like that? I like the interior in teenycars build in the jeepspeed forum. I would add a speedo, tach, gps and stereo. What's out there?

They're not actually fish finders guys... they're GPS's. Pretty much the industry standard in offroad racing FYI.

I have made my plans....I am gonna paint my jeep flat dark grey. I am going to paint the calipers and diff covers fox blue. I am going to paint the cage blue and the flat interior panels grey. It will be in for paint this month. I hope to do the cage and interior by September. I love loose nuts's interior. I am going to do mine based on that. I have been building this xj for 3 years and I am finally starting to reach my goals. Hopefully I will have a stroker by next year. It will be the equivelent of a brand new vehicle built just for me.

I did once, ended up having to turn the GPS off, and back on again to get rid of it.

yes i was very serious! to me it looked like you wired it up for some unknown reason so i asked.

so your just using the screen for a monitor? gps plotter or what? there is no jeepspeed in washingotn, just alot of trees and mud

I used the stock column (non-tilt). I cut the housing (not the shaft) off at the dash mount, and welded a piece of tubing with a bearing the end back on the housing. Then I welded the steering wheel disconnect on the end of the shaft. Came out pretty slick.
