insurance? paranoia?

They have crappy policies. I started to move my home and autos over to them but, they wouldn't insure my XJ because it's lifted. They wouldn't insure my other vehicles because THEY wouldn't insure my XJ. It's all or none with them.

Also they have Named Paril policies, not All Paril policies. Once again you get what you pay for.

all my vehicles have been insured through Farm Bureau and all have been modified from lifted street trucks to 100% off road toys and never had a problem getting them covered nor filing a claim if I had to.

You need to check with your agent. You may get a claim denied because they're lifted. Make sure your agent knows they are modified, so if they deny a claim because of this you can go after his E&O insurance.

When I was doing the application for my auto policy, the agent asked if any of my vehicles were modified. I said "yes, my jeep is lifted". The Agent went out and took pictures of it and sent them to the underwriter. The underwriter denied coverage because it was modified.

i really hope dude can get his stuff together. he's fun to wheel with, and has a great attitude. the ford taurus masks everything good about him as a jeep guy. also, i think it's really gay that ssuch a nice jeep has to sit in the yard and rot over some dumb insurance crap.

yeah, i don't know what they're gonna do, but it seems like they are firmly planted in their idea of how things are. he might just hafta let the poor ol' jeep sit there till he gets out of college. this kid wouldn't do anything to annoy his parents, and from my understanding they would look at him getting his own insurance and driving the jeep as undermining their authority or something, or they might see it as disrespectful of him to not just take their word for everything.... maybe like he's calling them liars or something, which would still be hurtful even if they were wrong. i dunno. i'm gonna keep buggin him about it everytime i talk to him, which is once every couple months or so....

That's a weird deal. My Dad told me if I wanted a vehicle, I would pay for the vehicle, repairs, smog cert., AND insurance. And guess what I did? I paid for it like he said. It taught me about resposibility.

yeah, my dad was gonna scrap this old firebird he had, so i asked what it would take to fix it. he told me if i could get it running, i could have it. i got it going, blew the v6 then swapped in a 383 stroker that a family friend took out of a corvette, along with a 350 turbo transmission, and drove it for a year. i sold it for almost 6 grand, and gave dad half for giving me the car in the first place. now i have some skills and i save a lot of money doing most things to my vehicles myself. i still to this day have never had a car that wasn't payed for entirely before driving it home. that said, they were all either free or under a grand:D
