Improve your shackle angle

Rear droop was improved, though not a very good pic, you can see the axle drops out nicely. You can see his box in the pic.
But You should warn your paying customers that these things don't fit in every case. And to be prepaired for this eventuality.

Thanks guys for the heads up on the fitment issues, I will work on resolving them for the later model years (for those of you who are afraid of the BFH).

As far as I know 96 and older the fitment is perfect, or as close as you can get when you are working with Chryslers sheetmetal......

I have only had one person write me with a newer model year having problems. I did have one person write to tell me that I messed up on my end with the bends on his set and that issue got resolved.

Your product does allow a lot more movement, I was very pleased once they were on.

Most of the guys in the SEC all run a set, except for Tim, who installed his inside the box instead of outside. :roflmao:

I'd venture to say that there's a much better chance of something being misaligned on your jeep than there is on the brackets he sells.

Just seems like you got awful upset all of the sudden. It took 3 of you 'ALL' day and night to install these? Maybe you should stick to your keyboard. :thumbup:

Welcome to the world of the 96 cherokee. As they ran out of 1995 parts, they started bolting in 1997 parts.

In a 96, you never know what you're going to get.

Except a few parts that are completely different from both 95 AND 97 parts, like the fuel level sender... :doh:

The 97 is also a mystery bag-o-parts, stuff like the transmission wiring and the door hinges are unique or luck of the draw.

I was going to get a set of these for my 96 but I ended up having to cut most of the back out and weld in new metal to almost cure my unibody cancer, so I don't even have a stock shackle box to mount these to anymore.

My hitch fit no problem, gas tank bash plate, as did the bumper and shackles fit in the stock boxs. Nothing was smashed, it has never been hit in back. Everything BUT these shackle relocators fit to the stock sheet metal.

I was wrenching on trucks when you were in diapers, so get off it.:twak:

Also, the guy who makes this stuff has been conceding potential fitment issues as a few have been reported - with dozens of people reporting none.

.. it looks to the third party like you are the one who needs to get off of it.

Yes he has been conceding the fact that not all his kits have not fit. He apologized, that all I wanted a year ago. Yet when I posted this last year, and now with Redheep, I'm the Dick. Well all I can say is it was myself and two other well rounded wrenches were working on them that day. Guy's my age that have built many 4X4's.

Found one more this was right after i had em welded up and was testing em

5-6 in front 5 in the rear.. (I think never measured)

It drastically improved my on road performance of the rear! YAY for real shackle angles!

I got mine in yesterday. They took a little bit of persuasion on my '00. You might want to check the fold on the side with the shackle bolt hole Brian. Another 1/8-1/4" would've made getting the frame holes to line up a lot easier.

I made this into one big project though. Shackle brackets+JPR fuel tank skid+reciever hitch=XJ sits in the garage until next weekend. Oh well, I guess the paint will have a chance to dry at least.

I had a bit of trouble with the shackle bolts (big surprise huh?). I was taking the bumper off anyhow so I heated the nut end and gave it some PB Blaster. No problem with the nutserts but the left side bushing seized to the bolt when I had it about 1/2 way out of the nut threads. I gave up for the night and did some searching here, then came up with my own idea.

I got the bolt out, the bushing pulled right out throught the bolt hole with it. Not too serious though. The shackle bolt hole was popped out, but I clamped it back into shape with a grade eight bolt, nut and fender washers.

I helped Paul out with the set he purchased from you and they were indeed off way to much to use a BFH.i dont think it had a thing to do with the year of his xj.it definately appeared that the bend was done incorrectly. and he did infact voice the problem on this forum with no response. one would think that each pair is checked not only visually but dimensionally prior to shipping.apparently this isnt the case.
