I would not worry about yoke damage...more like damage to the manifold from getting hit. If it is just a dimple, like 1/4", I would not worry....if you have a 1" deep gouge then get it fixed.

it's just a dimple, it's not really hitting, just "rubbing"
It doesn't hit now in regular driving, but I know it will hit when discod and the axle can travle farther up and down the pipe. I'll take off the DS this weekend, put a block of wood between the downpipe and the motor and just flatten it a bit. Should take care of it no problem.

BUT his yoke is hitting the exhaust downpipe....you know...that thin walled tubing that carries spent gasses that are the result of combustion.

I dont like the look of any of the aftermarket ones ive seen, and after two times at P+P in Fairfield, im still short a drivers side mirror...

I need one that isnt electric, and isnt the cable kind - pre 97...

My front pinion yoke hit my downpipe and broke off the tiny little tab that holds the u-joint cap in place. I threw a cap within 100 yds. I put on a replacement cap and tightened the hell out of it, threw that in 200 yds. Pulled my front ds, went home, dug around in my pile of d-30's and luckily had a few spare yokes lying around. Self clearancing by cast parts isn't as pain free as one would think.

I'll get it taken care of then. It's not hiting the yoke on the axle. It's rubbing the back of the axle side. I'll do as I mentioned earlier and just flatten it a bit, unless that seems to be a problem.

got talked into playing in some mud yesterday, i hate mud. it was kinda fun though, had some huge washouts to play in(most "wheeling" i've done in months) spent 15$ at the car wash most of it lying down. On a plus side, my undercarriage hasnt been that clean in a long time.
