Important

Funny coincidence Randy, I just bought a Lincoln 175... now I have to wire up a 220 outlet in the garage. Good thing I spent all weekend cleaning and reorganizing. I finally have a comfy space to work, something that I've been working towards for 2 and a half years since we moved into this house.

i cleaned up the garage a few weeks back. i used to have parts all over the floor and couldn't walk around, and I finally got sick of it. now I have much more room.....still got a few things left to move around (like those plastic bins full of parts and my old hatch, etc...) but it is so much nicer having room to work and move around :D

just discovered something.
Centering my axle has brough the pinion yoke in contact with the driveshaft while turning right and hitting a bump.
Looks like self clearancing is gonna happen for a little while.
Horrible?

??

OK, here is the deal...
I never recieved my shipping number.
I haven't recieved a cage.
My credit card was charged on august 19th
You said it would ship with in two weeks.
If I don't have a cage in my driveway by Saturday, Sept 23rd'
I will dispute the charges and ask Discover card to refund my money.
Then you told me it would ship on Tuesday the 11th of September.
I know you are a small company but do what you say you will do.

EDIT---
I didn't realize this at the time, but, I got post 4000!
WOOT!

Damn! Everybody's getting new toys.

....and I would have been happy with Randy's old welder!

Very nice Sean!
oh, you to Randy.

happy 4000th

depending on the depth of the dent....I would allow it to self clearance. When I replaced my front axle I had the same issue, a quick trip to an exhaust place resolved all but the must extreme issues. There is still a little dent where the yolk has made contact....but no biggie.

I heard it the first time I turned to full lock and made a right hand turn. It's since mostly gone away. I imagine that I will get some more when I disco the front. It seems as though there was a bent area in the downpipe to clear it stock, and with the lift I simply moved it out of its "niche" in the downpipe. It's not damaging the yoke, I think I'll leave it, or at best, disconnect it at the yoke and get my hammer out to flatten the pipe a bit.

and you asshats in Moab, no fire rings UNDER the awning!

Like that means anything after beer / cocktail #10. BTW, I've found that Sean can be talked into just about anything at that point. :D

I would not worry about yoke damage...more like damage to the manifold from getting hit. If it is just a dimple, like 1/4", I would not worry....if you have a 1" deep gouge then get it fixed.

yikes...

I know Phil lost a pinion yoke when his contacted his URF radius arms... we caught it in time to solve the issue before he needed a new driveshaft and pinion yoke...

OK..

BUT his yoke is hitting the exhaust downpipe....you know...that thin walled tubing that carries spent gasses that are the result of combustion.

Not really the same thing...ya know?

:D
