Important

JR, did you notice a huge difference in the towing dropping to 3.55's on the new one? Ill occasionally tow the boat any real distance and the car hauler with ATV's some. We are trading our camper for a little smaller one that is an ultralight, probably in the <5k range for weight.

5.0 with the tow package. Towed with both and I prefer the 5.0. the Ecoboost is a great engine but it drank a lot more gas than the new 5.0 did. We got 14 mpg towing a Comanche through Ohio with a 5.0

Things tow great with a 8.1 Cummins too. I don't think anyone would argue that a big engine will pull something better.

The question for most of us is whether we want to live with big engine consumption when we're not towing the other 355 days a year.

There's simply no reason (me as the perfect example) for someone to buy a v8 or diesel when you tow 4 times a year.

No, because the new truck is 700 pounds lighter. Check out http://www.fleet.ford.com/towing-guides/ for some better tow information. Add a tuner and you can easily gain 80 HP and almost 100 lb/ft of torque.

The 5.0 trucks do 20-22 on the highway. In my experience the Eco boost doesn't do much better. Unless the ones I've driven suck

I got got right at 20-21 mixed w the 5.0. I have not driven the ecoboost so I can't comment on it. One thing feed got right was the 36 gallon tank, you can go a long while between fill ups

Got her lifted and on the 31's. Still have all the plastic pieces LOL. Swapped my rusted and bent 30 for a for a straight 30(Thanks csailors). As someone here told me, I wish I had just done 33's.

Still have to swap the locker from the old 30 to the new 30 and replace a U-joint that I must have messed up at winterfest(didn't notice it till I took it off). Thinking about a shake down run to Bundy Hill mid April, anyone game?

Also old tires are for sale if anyone is interested. https://fortwayne.craigslist.org/wto/6057187659.html Redbird delivery available.

Long day today, but glad we got to help serve the community. A long time firefighter died on shift on friday while working out at the station. We hosted the service today in our auditorium. It was pretty awesome to see all the uniformed police and fire rally from aroun the area to show up in support.

Not very often I get a truck with the factory window sticker still in it. Just found this in the glove box.

Been to several Firefighter funerals...very somber events. It is really nice to see the outpouring of support given by fire and police departments from all over the US as well as the support from the community.

RIP Firefighter Steve Buser.

Well, I'm officially down 60 lbs since October. I was worried I wasnt going to be fat enough to be in the mwc anymore so I grew a beard quick to maintain status :)
