So much better.

My sister has one and my boss has had three of them. We see water pumps and power transfer unit failures. The water pumps are timing chain driven and take about 13hrs to do. The transfer cases are non serviceable. They come new from ford. The cv axle seal is replaceable and is usually leaking.

I wouldn't be afraid of one

if it's the haldex system they're serviceable, just not according to ford.

people are rebuilding the gen 3 haldex angle gears in volvos. You use audi parts.
all from the same manufacturer in sweden.
in an amazing turn of event audi haldex parts are way cheaper than volvo haldex parts...

here's the reseal kit:

I've got a list of the bearings somewhere.

As of end of business day tomorrow, my work will be under the fourth owner since I started almost 16 years ago. The new company seems to be one of the better ones if all the owner said in a meeting is true (possibly bonuses again). My insurance will go up a bit and office visits will go up, but could be worse. We could be going to the people who own the station down the road.

I'm 100% behind "slow down, move over" but we do have a local PD here that spends as much on lights as the rest of the car and you can't see shit when passing a traffic stop. The more light the better for the officer conducting the stop but I'm surprised they've never been hit by a blinded passerby.
I love it when a police car, fire engine, ambulance, etc. is coming towards me on a 55 mph divided highway and some window licker infront of me comes to a complete stop in the traffic lane. I understand curb right and slow down blah blah blah. But the emergency vehicle is not going to suddenly jump the median and cut infront of on coming traffic. Bonus points of retardation if everyone is on a bridge. Yiu just never know when the suicidal PD is going to, with out warning make a quick left and dive off of this bridge.

I hate the ODOT green lights.

yes, you chose green because they appear brightest to the human eye at night.

which is great, until you put 8 flashing green/white lights on the front of your snowplow and blind everyone.

I'm not really sure what one it is. I've never dug into it that deep. The last one we replaced I saved to take it apart but it got scrapped before I got to it. I figured they were repairable

Congrats Craig!

I liked them till one day I got stuck behind one for 20 minutes. Worst driving experience I have ever had.

I avoid the modern AWD systems like the plague, every one seems to have stacks of problems. The dealer that has it, told her that it was fwd only. It was the first thing he told her. I guess I have bought enough used cars from him.

When I was training many many years ago, I had an FTO do just that in our ambulance. She heard a call come out, lit it up and made a u-turn over a freaking median. Got everyone in a tizzy and probably jacked up the ambulance to save 20 seconds. Can't reserve all the stupid for the bystanders. Sometimes the stupid is behind the wheel of the emergency vehicle.

What gets me is when people stop for school busses on a four lane road especially when the bus is going the other direction. Thankfully I usually leave before school and don't come home until after so unless I'm late I miss them.

You do realize that is the law? At least it is in Illinois.

Not on a four lane road in Ohio. School bus drivers can not let a kid walk across a four lane road. They have to go up one side and down the other if they have stops on both sides of the road.

I know the flex AWD system is the Haldex(It's a volvo wagon chassis that things built on). I figure anything that Ford is making AWD without a prper transfer case is likely Haldex.

They lifted all f that from Volvo while they owned the brand.

you done HAVE to stop anywhere at any time, it is just highly suggested by the guys with guns and ticket books :D
