Thats what im starting to notice. Just about ready to switch companies. Their prices keep going up. Have only been with them for 10 years now.

My verizon phone bill is down to less than $100/month for two phone unlimited text/minutes and 6 gig data.

HOW? Im paying $175 for 2 smart phones with 4 gig data. Granted we are doing their phone plan where you pretty much pay it off slowly each month but still. Maybe i need to go in and see what they will do.

We pay 240 for 4 phones w 6 gigs. Lynn's parents pay for half then work gives me 50/month. They would supply me a phone but I wanted to keep my phone and number.

when I spoke with XM I just simply told them their service was not worth the price and I could stream unlimited music for a much cheaper cost to buy more data from my cell provider. They said they would honor the 5 months for $25 promotion. I had enough credit from their last auto billing cycle that I covered all 3 vehicles and ended up with a credit as well. Now I just need to pay attention to my outlook calendar to remember when my next expiration is up and request cancellation or the $25 promo again :D

You get a nice little reminder?

still happy with my prepaid AT&T.

2GB of 4g data, unlimted 3g thereafter, unlimted text/talk.

$45 a line.
and cheap cell phones have gotten way better recently.

We have actually looked into going with the prepaid phones. Would think they would have the same coverage area as the normal monthly plans do.

the AT&T ones are on the exact same network as the post paid phones.
The verizon prepaid makes no sense because they charge you a daily usage charge, that basically makes it cost as much as a contract phone, without the benefits of a contract.

I never use all the data, so I currently have 4GB of high speed data.
and a phone with an octacore processor, 3gb ram and 16GB of internal memory was $100.

I haggled with both Dish and XM last week.
Dish knocked off $15.00 per month plus I got a receiver for the shop that I can put in the camper when we go away.
The new Fusion had six months free XM when we got it and they want $35.00 per month for it or you can get a six month deal. I called them and told them that was too much, I already pay for it in the Ftrefiddy and 'Yota and I can only listen to one at a time, besides the one in my shop, which is my original radio from 2003, I have been a Sirius subscriber since 2003.
I got the fusion for free, and I can cancel the one in the shop because Dish has XM built into it.

So we have paid for phones with the Verizon plan. So if you are paying the monthly "rental" fee or whatever they call it, $40 a month is probably for phones. They recently changed their plans and we are paying slightly less for more data than we were. We also had a tablet that we weren't using on data, so I dropped paying for that as well. We went from almost $170/month to right at $100/month. I'm hoping that phone prices will go down on the 6s when the new phones come out this fall and we'll buy those phones for a good price outright with Verizon.

Verizon offers me fast service everywhere I go reliably...except Attica, which is just slow... Since we are only down there 2 times a year anymore, I just deal with it those weekends.

mac 'except for one year in the late 90's, I've had Verizon since 1994...when it was GTE mobilenet...with 30 minutes a month' gyvr

Good to know. Will have to look into it. If i could get our bill down to under $100 a month for 2 phones i would be happy.
I got a galaxy S5 last year on from a buddy that had verizon and just transfered my number to a prepaid verizon SIM. I pay $55 a month including $10 for 1000 mins to mexico. That includes 1.5 gigs and i add 3 gigs for $20 every 2 months.

Attica was the first time i didn't have good reception

I'm cheap, I don't smartphone. That might change since prices have been coming down, but I can still live without.
