Not having a basement is dumb.

I've lived in houses on concrete slabs in coastal Carolina for 12 years. Having a basement when I move back north is a requirement.

Had a water pipe break under my slab over the winter. that sucked. the new house has a basement/crawl space. never going on a slab again.

So I scratched the idea of a Colorado and looking for a 99-06 Extended cab silverado. Anyone know of any clean ones on the market? Considering I just accidentally bought an ATV it seems like the best plan. Plus I can tow the XJ on a dolly and haul the ATV at once.

Go 03-06, and the 5.3ltr at the least. The 03-06 have the redesigned electrical system, and just a slight bit nicer interior. The redesigned electrical system is a bit more reliable, and interior has dual zone climate control, double din radio (makes swapping out for an aftermarket Nav unit easier if you where so inclined), and a nicer steering wheel.

Our house in town had a slab, new house in the country is on a crawlspace. Not moving again.

99-02 Silverados had cable-driven throttle bodies and shared dash bits with the GMT400s. 03-06 Silverados were drive-by-wire, nicer dash & console, but were plagued with faulty gauge clusters. All Silverados 99+ were available with the 5.3. Buy the newest one you can afford, look in the South.

Should have said something last week. Dad was selling his 2001 Silverado. Only had 120k on it to. Ended up taking it in last Thursday. They are good trucks. They ride nice to.

So, did sewage back up, or did the wall come in?
The wall coming in sounds fishy to me, there had to be tell tale signs before hand, years or decades before hand, and preventative measures could have been taken.

Both, sewage came up and her parents decided to just tear it down at that point. If it was just the wall collapsing, they would have rebuilt it (the wall collapsing was nothing new in 2008, a lot of homes had it happen around here. We got a ton of rain the week before the flood and then overnight an equal amount of rain from the week before fell).

I'll snap a couple pics tonight. were not closing till July 30th but we have the key code for the box.

its a tri level on a cul-de-sac. needs a little work to make it our own but basically move in ready. once i'm officially the owner I am getting started on making the basement a bar.

My grandpa in Mexico has an 04 he's had since new and considering how bad he is at maintenance the truck has been great except for the gauge cluster. uncle had an 05 Crew cab that I rode in quite a bit. Seems like the best bet for me, hope I can flat tow the XJ when the pickup comes along. Plan on adapting a tow bar to fit the D rings on my Logans 4x4 bumper

Need an engine hoist and having a bit of trouble finding a tall one. My good old 20+year Northern Hydraulics(yes that old) finally dead done died. I do not feel like slapping yet another Ram and castors on, so looking for a new one. All the 4k ones I'm finding are short and most of the motors I pull are on trucks.
