rear shaft rebuilt.
even welded up the manifold collector leak.
pretty much ready to put this pig back together.
not sure how you crack the x member. I bent the snot out of one welded to the body, but it never broke.

Does it have a 2.5? I read those are a head gasket eater.

WRX is a 2.0. My 97 legacy was a 2.5......the head gaskets were blown. Didn't know until we went to change the thermostat and it was gutted to keep from overheating. It just had the head gaskets, timing belt and water pump done. Trans is a JDM(bro) unit with 30k on it. I dunno of the ratios are different or what but it's low mileage.
