I was trying to loosen my belt to replace my alternator, but the pulley wasn't moving. I did notice the bolt that the pulley is attached to was coming out. Is it supposed to do that?
How do I covert to a single pulley?

Are you saying that the bolt that adjusts the tension on the pulley is backing out? No, it's not supposed to do that. Cubbetm has it right, you need to loosen the bolt that attaches the idler pulley from the front, you might need to remove the e-fan to get to it. The head of the adjusting bolt should never move, only the pulley should slide back and forth. If it won't budge, hit it with a hammer.

Yea there is a bolt in the center of the idler pulley, 15mm I believe. You can get it with a wrench usually. If you don't loosen that the adjuster bolt just backs out. I never tighten the belt enough the first time and when I turn on my AC the belt squeals.
Anybody know where to get replacement center caps for rims? Looking for one for our xj limited rims. Also looking for an extra rim so I can put them on the zj. Here is the type of rim I'm looking for.

The correct center cap for the Icons is about 1-15/16" diameter, kinda hard to come by. The Icons I just picked up had 2-1/8" ones that were common on the later ZJs. You can find both on Ebay, but I think they're overpriced for a little piece of plastic. I would like to find a couple more of the rims, to have matching spares on my 96 and the wife's 98, so if you find some let me know. Haven't seen any on C-list since I bought mine.

Me too. Three pages of how to loosen a belt! I ask a tech question in here and never get and answer once a week we're talking about something dumb that someone else will do anyway.Feels like I stumbled into the wrong thread.
