Important

The only thing I can use in my truck is the CB. No phone while moving, although with the satellite, dash cam and "how's my driving sticker", I need to leave my trucker clock alone.

My boss is a clown.

Re: Re: Important

Rotor track and balance. It's a finicky animal on a tiltrotor because you have to track the blades like a helicopter for vibration reduction, but you also have to control mast torque and vibrations when it's an airplane with the same pitch link and tip weight adjustments. We track and balance in 6 different flight regimes.

This seems much more common in the civilian world, where you are responsible for you. In the military world, you are responsible for you and 80 other idiots. When they do dumb shit, they don't ask them, they ask you why you didn't stop them from doing dumb shit.

There are very few jobs in the world anymore where you punch a clock and ignore your boss when you want to. They're usually more associated with jobs than careers.

Ah, I see. We do vibration analysis on our props and several other components on our engines.

In the GOV rigs we can not use any phone device period. If you need to text or talk, pull over. As far as OT...not an option here. We were able to get credit leave if we worked over, but my supervisor took that away bc a few coworkers were abusing the system and claiming hours they never worked. So I went with a compressed schedule and work 9 hour shifts and an 8 hour shift every other Thursday and have every other Friday off. Works out nice since I structured it around the holidays that I knew we get off, that gives me some 4 or 5 day weekends in there. It is about time management and getting the job done...which I do both.

Depends on what all ya want done...this has been a learning experience, but I can about do a LS swap in my sleep now on the C series trucks. I hate body work....but everything else has been fun to do and a learning experience for sure. I have handled virtually every nut and bolt on the entire rig since it was a complete frame up restromod. The cost is something that I started with a budget and it was exhausted about half way through, but I have gone w/ almost everything new and used very little used items other than a few body panels. It has been a fun build, and it is fun to rip posi burnouts and whip donuts effortlessly.

It needs a frame up. I'm going to do it with the boys when I retire.

That will be a fun project. Case has been as involved as a 8 yr old can be through the entire project. It is "our" truck project. He wants me to do the $100 bill challenge so he can try and grab it off the dash, I told him no way bc it does not hook up good and he would have an extra $100 haha!

My phone stays on but the bosses rarely call or text me unless its a joke they are sending me or have a quick question on a run i did. It does suck tho when they go and fire one of the supervisors and then give me half of what he was in charge of doing but don't give me any kick back for having extra work added onto me. Here lately it has been really hard to not go and find another job. Just don't know if it is worth all the exspense of going back to school for just a few dollars more an hour.

What do you do Ben?

Get a drop phone and use it for work only.

Thought about that. Also thought about a free google number, but it'd be pain in the ass remembering to call from it when I'm traveling. Thankfully my number isn't on my business cards, so I control somewhat who gets it.

I may go through my phone records for the year and figure out what's been work calls and what hasn't, then find a way for uncle Sam to take care of it. Already have a stack of receipts to write off (including a new phone for when mine got ruined on a job site this year).

I'm sitting in the airport in San Francisco waiting to board. This has been my 4th or 5th trip out here in two weeks. I'm home for two days but fly back out here Sunday morning to work all of Sunday afternoon.

Looking forward to going to the flog next weekend. I need the break!

Another topic - anybody know any good forums for the CJ scene? Have a friend looking and I don't know much about them. I've done zero research for a forum...thought I'd ask ya'll first...

So had the county called on the property over the summer for the vehicles. All passed the start, stop, move test and she said all was well. Now got another notice for the same thing. According to her, this is coming from higher up and is out of her hands essentially. So even though in her opinion we have met the requirements set by the county, someone with political pull has a wild hair up their ass. The property is bordered by a huge construction company quarry on one side and the quarry next to us is for sale... then there's our three little acres nestled between them. Word has it that the construction company has also obtained the property across the street from us. Not sure I like where this is going...

May not be a bad thing, big companies have big money, may make some if they are willing to buy.
