Important

My uncle past yesterday morning. We had his memorial today. I rather be hungover and sore from a day a Redbird than deal with this.

Sorry to hear that buddy. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Why did you swap injectors? Seems like you introduced a problem with a solution you didn't need.

The 95-99 dodge neon four hole versus our one hole injector is supposed to be a good modification for smoothing out the idle. In general it they are supposed to make things smoother.

Flex's new ones are reman'd and he may have had one sticking and allowing additional fuel to the cat where it would ignite, causing the tailpipe pop under heavier load.

The misfire code seems to be generic, my opinion. I don't know how a 1997 could identify an exact cylinder issue unless it senses the injector malfunctioning.

Hank

I know why people do it, I wanted to know why he did it. I don't mess with things that aren't broken.

Well, most of the time. Usually when I do I break things that weren't broken.

You seem to "know why people do it." I took the time to tell why people do it. So the most plausible reason to why Flex did the swap would be the answer that you already know.

Got home around 4 after stopping to dump the tanks and fill up.

8 mpg averaging 70-72 mph. Was a little idle time on there too. Did 412 miles on the tank, looks like I can do a comfy 600-650 mile cruising range, maybe 700.

My thx to gene and pat for helping this am and getting my stuck stabilizer up.

Nap now work.

You're the one that answered for him. Not my fault if you felt like you gave the wrong answer.

You normally aren't one to care what I do, did something change? I explained my reasoning.

did this on saturday. it lasted 7 years. do i just get another stock one or do i upgrade? struggling to find a reason to spend the additional cash on upgrading.

I just sold some of those to brad price incoming.

Brad told me what he paid from Brian and it was very competitive (read cheaper) and came with the backing plates vs the ones that I bought after moab last year from a big box vendor for the rear of the LJ and I had to buy backing plates separately.

I was having leak down issues, my idle was rough and I figured I would give them a shot. All was well until it freaked out yesterday. My buddy came by and plugged his Snap-on Ethos up to it and everything is normal now. It idles better and starts better so I dunno, hopefully that was a fluke.

Flexd 'atomization' XJ

dump a quart of MMO in the tank.
quieted my super clackity injector that wasn't closing all the way and causing a pop when it hit decel above 3 grand.

Alloys are not much more than stockers, let me know what you need a quote on.

a pair of those is cheaper than a pair of stock replacements after you factor in bearings and seals.

after Dan comes and picks up the wienerbox you'll have my order.
