Important

Can't be much slower then my build......... three years later it is finally starting. Once I get the rear bumper tie ins and everything painted, I am taking the front hooks off and puttin on a front hitch.

Re: Re: Important

I have a 8.8 LSD carrier in the garage you can have for free. I don't know if I can shove it in a flat rate box or not.

I'll let you know. Was looking for an open carrier but might take your ls carrier.
Hell, this 8.8 originally had a ls carrier and I sold it to Brennen. Lol
If it'll fit in a flat rate box they will ship it no problem. Think 70lbs is the limit.

On the Mo titling of homemade trailers, iirc If it was over a certain length it had to be inspected by the state troopers. Luckily I was under that and any state licensed inspection shop could do it, the DMV made it sound so easy.

I heard of a few people that couldn't get their homemade trailer titles because they had no receipts for parts or materials. Mine was primarily built from scrap so I did not have many receipts but they did not check them anyway. The hard part was getting anyone to inspect a homemade trailer and even a few places that said they could do it changed their minds when I was actually there and they had no one there that knew the laws on them.

I pulled slowly by the garage of the last place (small buisness) and parked where the mechanics could see me. I knew I was good when I didn't get to the door before their guys were asking me questions about it. They seemed to be a bit unclear on the laws and the guy behind the counter looked like he was going to say no until their mechanics walked in all exited about the trailer.

They checked the lights, looked at how it was assembled and passed me. Even then they didn't know what to give me for the DMV, I was given a receipt that said state inspection with a handwritten message that said "Homemade utility trailer, call shop for questions or verification".

After a trip to the dmv and a bit of a wait I got a vin plate and title in the mail! Good luck finding someone to approve it, I would try and deal with a smaller shop.

let me know! its going to be a way slower build than the green one...maybe

If you don't want both of them I could use one to get The Spare'okee ready for my Ole Lady to run green next WF.

BACK IN THE DAMN GAME!

So hard to find a good price or a clean XJ. Was looking for a 1996, but 2001 will do.

Another silver one! :looser:

looks good tho, glad you made your way back to the dark side.

Thanks for the info, you're the first person I've heard from that's actually gone through the process in MO. I'm going to work on finding a small shop to do the inspection and hopefully can get it titled that way.

Didn't get home till 1:30 this morning after having the HMV kids unload the trailer.

We got 2nd place in the braking challenge and then earned 3rd place in both classes we raced in. Competed against 40 other schools so we're pretty happy with those results!

Back here at 6am to catch-up on the last two days... Found next years contract in my mailbox which made me pretty happy.
