Important

So after a few hrs of wrenching all the removables off. Here is what I'm left with. I'm going to try to pull this out myself, but I'm not sure If I'll be able to... Still I'm hoping It'll be a cheap body shop fix since all they'll have to do is the rack work. I have about half of what I need to put it back together. I need a power steering pump pulley, radiator, serpt belt, drivers side headlamp bezel, and I think the mech fan shroud. Parts usable off the red one is the air cleaner assembly, and the power steering pump bracket. Oddly enough mine looks fine, but the idler pulley isn't straight?

In other news here are a few pics of the other 99 I picked up for a $100. Unfortunately the block is a goner, but the head intake and exhaust manifold is good. I'm hoping the tranny is ok too.

Re: Re: Important

I don't see any butthurt in Dans post, just a simple correction...
I don't see any customer bashing either.

What i do see is you being kind of a prick to one of our vendors.

Being a prick is coming into a thread and bashing on CUSTOMER!!!!!! And another vendor.

I'll keep any further comments to myself about you calling me a prick.

The Misalignment pieces that were backordered came in a day early (we work Saturdays and my machinists' work 7 days whenever something is out of stock) but the order was cancelled after we spoke to the customer and he decided to do something different. The order has been refunded. The order was placed Friday at 6am our time.

Dump out the nasty crap, drain carb, refill with good non ethanol gas and maybe a bit of seafoam.

he might get lucky...the jets on lawnmower carbs are so tiny! i have pulled them off and soaked them over night in a bowl of gas before...sometimes it works.

Gas from last fall?

Pull the cord and start it.

mac 'I do it every spring' gyvr

It wouldn't start. Drained out the old crap. Put new in, sprayed some starter fuild on the carb. Fired right up.

old gas just became fire pit starting fluid.

well i acquired another xj dana 44 today...this is number 3. we'll see if it ever makes it under a jeep i own. the problem is they are worth a lot more to other people than they are to me...i bought my first one under an 87 xj that i paid $200 for...sold the axle for $300 and there rest of the parts/scrap for about $800...paid $1200 for the second one with all the parts and sold it for $1800 with all the parts. i paid $100 plus the ride for this one...don't think i'll lose anything by buying it
This is why I keep ending up with NV4500s and dana 60s and keep not putting them in my jeeps... it is really hard for me to justify building them into something when I buy them for $150 to $200 and can usually sell for $600 to $1300 within a week. Really really hard. That is a lot of gas/tire money and spare d30 shafts

I put fresh gas into a mower that hadn't been started since October and used it today. Beside taking forever for the primer bulb taking forever to get suction to prime, it fired on first pull. Need to get two more mowers ready for one more yard and I will have mowers at the two friends yards I cut. I love my new push mower, no priming and fires with and easy pull of the string.

Built this work bench today, now I have a place to clean firearms.

I'm thinking about getting the banks (wonder if it's the old non wastegated) and a rebuild kit. Any of them would work on my 6.9 though. Have to wait till payday.
Send me some money and I'll pick one up for you. lol

So. The ATS kit comes with a whole running 6.9. He said he had the heads done but it has some kind of internal noise.

The banks kit is complete. It is the wastegated turbo and came from an auto trans truck.

Not much info on the 7.3 with factory turbo but he says it runs good.

Hopefully theyre still around when I get paid.
I think Im going to go with the ATS, send the IP and injectors in as cores, keep/sell the heads, and scrap the block. This should get me an almost free turbo kit.

What would make an electrical motor on a chop saw spark out of the spot where it cools? It still works but is said to shoot sparks when being used. Found it for cheap on cl but don't know if it is something I should look into or not.

Picked up a 40 volt cordless weed wacker from lowes today. They said if it gives me any issues in the next 5 yrs bring it back and they will give me another......

Sounds good to me because I can't make a gasser last more than one season, I think I just don't use them enough.
