Important

Re: Re: Important

I run @ 3mph on beans w/ a 30' header, little more or little less depending on conditions...corn is a crap shoot..I run a 8 row corn head and depending of I am in 45 bu crap corn or 240 corn my speeds vary greatly. Good maintence and lube is the key to anything. I got over 11K hours out of my John Deere tractor before it needed an overhaul. It was a one owner unit and had impecable upkeep. There is not a lot of sit and idle time in these things (combines), we do 75% or more of our unloading on the fly, so if its running it is likely shelling!

That info on the parts is greatly appreciated, it just came out of the shop preseason and those are about the only damn things that were not replaced.

Cheese "costs a lot to be this poor" Man

~4mph in 220bu avg corn yesterday. Grain cart couldn't keep up, kept having to stop. 963 head.

Usually around 3.5 in beans unless they're really tough. 1020 head.

the motor in this is slightly modified. Lol

He said its
RAZOR rock rap beaters.
serrated feeder chain slats
Non stone guard (smooth) drum.

thanks again for the info, I will be looking a bit deeper into this once we get through this harvest. I too am running a 1020 head (30') but running a ragged out 983 that had the field tracker conversion installed...it is like the yearly money hole...totally needs rebuilt or just scrapped :D

Drove my Grandma to a few things in her car this morning (2009 Accord with almost 29k on it), forgot how nice it was to drive a car that doesn't let you feel every single bump in the road.

After a week and a half of the smooth ride of Ben's 2001 Chrysler Sebring, I was anxious to get back to my Jeep.

Guess I just like it rough... lol
