Usually around 3.5 in beans unless they're really tough. 1020 head.

I run @ 3mph on beans w/ a 30' header, little more or little less depending on conditions...corn is a crap shoot..I run a 8 row corn head and depending of I am in 45 bu crap corn or 240 corn my speeds vary greatly. Good maintence and lube is the key to anything. I got over 11K hours out of my John Deere tractor before it needed an overhaul. It was a one owner unit and had impecable upkeep. There is not a lot of sit and idle time in these things (combines), we do 75% or more of our unloading on the fly, so if its running it is likely shelling!
That info on the parts is greatly appreciated, it just came out of the shop preseason and those are about the only damn things that were not replaced.
