Important

The union I was in (not in now because it had very little pull with my work and the part timers earned crap wages) did pay pretty good for us full timers. Just enough to be livable to where I feel like I don't need to work two jobs.

I have a buddy that refuses to buy anything other than chevys...says that he will never buy a foreign car. I tell him about all the Honda and such built here and feeding american families and he says that money is still going overseas...

I quit arguing about it...

PS I buy Fords when I can because I really like their product...

and they didn't take any money from the government.

I used to feel the same way about buying only American brands before I had a drivers license. Then I started owning cars. After having multiply issues with my Grand Am and losing value, then my Chevy Malibu eating gaskets, I am not a big GM fan. My mom was given a Toyota Previa mini van (space shuttle shaped vans) when she couldn't afford a vehicle. Other then putting a steering rack on it (it had 255k when she got it, 265k when she got rid of it), it didn't require much beyond brake work. The Montana she had, it had many issues. The only saving grace on it was when someone totaled it, we got it cheap enough that she got what she paid for it back (well, the loan company did). My Jeep has been very reliable, I would buy a Jeep again with a 4.0. I do love my Grandma's 09 Accord though (almost completely loaded with features, doesn't have GPS). Toyota makes the Highlander down in Princeton (and the Titan trucks for a short time). Titan's are made in Texas now.

They took the first two rounds of money....

Just when the government wanted ownership thru a pre-packaged bankruptcy like the other two Billy Boy backed away from the hog trough. His ego couldn't take losing control of the family barn.

The subie we had was built in indiana...i never did scrape that ugly sticker off the back windows.

I was at the plant Saturday! They let the employees come out and watch David Higgins annihilate a set of tires!

I have American vehicles because obviously one is a hero and the neon was cheap!

Man... Brakes and a rack in 10k miles? What a turd!!

Brakes, I expect, the rack, I can say is okay when it has 1/4 of million miles on it. If a shop said the frame was about to break, she would have kept it longer. It was on the road for a few more years before it finally disappeared. My moms Montana only had 120k on it when the tranny went out.

My Toyota Camry has had a blower motor resistor and a door handle (that I broke in a fit of anger) other than tires and oil changes, that's it.

200,000 mi and going strong.
