You don't need a case spreader...ever

Open end wrench on a ring gear bolt against the case and turn the pinion yoke or driveshaft gets them out

Rubber mallet gets them in

use a bottle of Boones Farm...that helps spread things.......

I've been gone a month traveling/moving and I feel like its been over a year...

I was going to just make a case spreader.... You really should use one to get preload right. Not a huge deal for a trail rig but street rigs I think it has a lot to do with how the bearing wears
 
Trying to decide if I want to fix all the stuff wrong with this 2 door or just find a solid donor to swap the suspension/axles/lift to. I bought it mainly for the good parts anyway.

Making a laundry list now, we'll see how it all adds up.
