Found a guy to re gear my axles for $150 an axle right near my shop. Whoop whoop...if he can't do I I found another guy not too far that will do it for a little more.

Since we are on scrap talk here...anyone know what a bare xj unibody weighs? I'm throwing one or two axles in the scrap pile too...just curious
 
I love the guys who try and make money off scrapping. I actually get to see it first hand tonight. Big garbage day is the first thursday of the month in my town, It's free pick up of what ever you want. I have seen guys stop, leave their truck running and sift through garbage just to throw a cookie sheet in their bed. These fine folks are typically not the classiest folks around.

Which vendors on here have people got a hack n tap sye from? I think its time to put one on..

And has anybody with an ax15 used the v8 zj driveshaft or any other driveshafts for a roughly 4" lift?

yes. We used it on a buddy's 97 XJ w/ AX15+SYE. It was a regular SYE not a hack n tap, I'm not sure what the difference is.

Early vs late ZJs w/ the V8 have different length transmissions and thus different length front driveshafts. The split is mid 95 iirc, I'm really not sure, do your hack n tap then measure from the centerline of the ujoint slots in the yoke to the centerline of the ujoint slots in the pinion yoke. Then go to the junkyard and measure early and late v8 zj front shafts till you find one that's about right at mid-extension.

mine is from dirtbound offroad...the iro is pretty much the same thing. right around the same price too. i don't think dirtbound has a jig though.
