Important

uncrushed, I am guessing 150lbs... if the cans are crushed, guessing 350.

Where is the place to go for driveshafts nowadays? I tried a new local place and the balance on one sucks and they wouldn't use stronger tube and didn't have the parts in stock to make the slip longer. Tom woods seems over priced for a custom length spicer shaft. My ZJ needs a 39" double carden in the rear and 31" in the front. All my shafts are 33" so now I don't have spares. I'd like to get new awesome shafts made and use these unbalanced crap shafts as spares. So where are you guys going? Local? Mail order?

I'm hoping Douglas will chime in since he posted a sweet shaft on the book of faces not too long ago.

I know of a couple other local places but I rather go some where that understands what I need for the jeep instead of just making my "core" shafts longer or shorter.

I got a guy in town that does them at the big rig shop. He's pretty young but has the driveshaft thing down pat. He builds all of mine with .120 wall dom, half a day turnaround, for less then $100 retubed, balanced, and a coat of paint.

178 lbs of aluminum. If I win, Flex will buy you a drink. :D

Flex owes me a drink then...

Everything in the trailer was 232 lbs...

Your scrap prices must suck there... We took in 1900lb of assorted crap and got 336 bucks.

I'm not even bringing a Jeep, which is still better than K

Wanna make all this stop? I still have a seat open to come down for $100.

Thanks but K"didn't go to winterfest until this year"man is not going to be worried about these two razzing me about not going to the Crawl.

I am going to be going through Kentucky, but the other side.

Steel is 185/ton here

Aluminum cans are 58 cent a pound

I can't chose prices when I need to scrap...

Then best thing perhaps is the garage is getting cleaner...
