Lock rite is on sale for $220, with the new hardened cross shaft.

That's a good price.

Who uses what on the road and how do they act?

Driven the Jeep several times from here to Onalaska (over 100 miles) cruising at speeds up to 80mph, can't tell its there unless I'm doing any sharp turning. Most noticeable when in reverse and turning.

I run an Aussie in the front and beat the hell out of it with no problems.

Didn't say it causes problems, just noticed a difference in design where one may have the advantage over the other... Lockers are like any other part on a rig, to each their own...

Worth every penny. I will never have an automatic locker in a rig again. Well...I might if it was a buggy never driven on the street but never on a daily driver/trail rig again.

Easy to say if you have that many pennies.

I've got 350 in her ARB right now.... Just because you're pinching pennies doesn't mean you can't have what you want :D ill never buy another lunchbox locker AGAIN. Especially after the epic stock carrier destruction I've have to mop up

The Aussie in pats 44 has destroyed no fewer than 10 shafts of which 7 or 8 were alloys. I loved the lunch box until I got selectables.......

What Brian said. Not to mention the fact that a non selectable locker can be down right dangerous if you drive them on the road in the snow.

Honestly I'd rather go open a few more paychecks and save for a selectable than run an auto locker.

And like I said before. Find me a ARB for 350 and I'd be running one but until they are under 500 and I'm feeling froggy ill stick with my lunch box. Nothing against selectables other than the price.

take this crap to the mod tech forum! lol. jk.

ive been happy with my aussie... works exactly like every other lunchbox is described. some clicks, some bangs, but zero steering input. does 80 just fine. when i bought it, i went where i could get diff covers and lube lockers, and free shipping. a $250 lunchbox quickly turned into a $500 purchase. id still do it again, just wave your McCredit card.

on the 30... i dont see a need for a hardened cross shaft. ive seen/heard/read of lots of shafts going, gears, and carriers... but very few cross shafts. even with the stock cross shaft, id argue that the carrier will break before the shaft itself. so unless you get it in a deal, i wouldnt make it a priority.

dont you still need a compressor for the zip locker? i've seriously contemplated getting an eaton or an ox because you don't need to buy anything else.

3 pages on lockers...I may as well chime in.

I've had no issues with my Aussie in the D30. I've driven it quite the distance and not had any bothersome issues while on the road. Well, nothing over what any lunchbox would do. It delivers off road, doesn't break the bank and isn't scary on the road.
