Important

Between today & tonight, somewhere between 1" and 3" is predicted. The prediction has been getting scaled back, it started at 4" to 6".

We got a bunch of rain coming this afternoon and tonight...

Tornado watch too...

Part time til 5, then sleep, then work for the city at 10...

I think we are getting all the rain that we didn't last year...

I feel like I should've set the pool up to start getting it filled up...

were getting hit up in NWI but surprisingly so far there hasn't been to much flooding.

Looks like we are about to get hit. Dark clouds are off in the distance. Our lakes around here need it that way i can atleast put the boat in the water this summer. Getting ansy to hit the lake.

So glad I work tonight. At least the really heavy stuff is staying north of Vincennes.

There is a second line coming tonight when the cold front comes through.

Theyre saying we're supposed to have a flood that rivals 86. I call bullshit. More government fear mongering...

After the flood of 2008, I don't wish floods on anyone. This picture was taken about a 1/8th of mile from where I lived. I had 3.5' of water in my apartment.

I made two promises to myself that day, first being that I would never, ever live in a flood plain again (I lived in the bowl of TH). Also that whenever I could, I would help out when a disaster hit some place. Since then, I have been on seven mission trips (four for flood rebuilding and three for tornado rebuilding).

We need the rain, but over a extended period of time.

all this talk of flooding and such makes me glad I live at the top of the hill.

Where I live now is on top of a hill, where I moved after the flood was in high ground. I won't live any place else if I can help it.

I want to get Sarah out on a boat, maybe go tubing, but lakes need water to do that. Friends parents have a pontoon and a tube, so hopefully I can make that happen this summer.

We weren't expecting a flood here in 08 either....boy were we wrong....

I took the cover off my pool a week or 2 ago. i was planning on having the rain help out.
this was when i took the cover off

it is now to full, and pouring out of the hole where the filter hooks up.

Kankakke area has been hit hard, the farms around me look like lakes. Chicago areas are flooding fast. it is wet everywhere.

if i remember i will snap a pic tomorrow to compare water levels

Sounds like up around chicago got hit really hard. Guess it will be a fun drive up there saturday morning to the airport. Hope the runways aren't flooded.

Rain is nice, until you have a roof leak! Looks like something came loose on the side of the roof allowing water in.

We have three rivers that meet in downtown Fort Wayne. So to say we are used to flooding is an understatement. They have done good things over the years to help with the flooding...several area downtown are now parks. A few other places are golf courses and other areas that are easy to fix or don't do much damage when there is a lot of water.

Take that dealership in the above pic, there was a dealership like that a few years ago (maybe 08), they tore it down and made it a grassy field owned by the city now.

So far, even with 3 inches expected in the next couple of days, they don't seem to concerned around here...at least not yet.
