driving a project in progress is a PITA, im glad i got a daily. ive saved so much money these past few months. not more losing battle trying to keep it pretty anymore.

Same... I have my eyes peeled for an 8.25 29 spline trashlock in the junkyard. Not ideal, but I don't want an autolocker or welded rear, and I'm not dropping a grand on a selectable for an axle I'm not keeping long term. $50 at the boneyard is more my level.

14 years ago I tried to find and buy a TJ with 4.0, auto, and a/c. Couldn't afford it...bought an XJ fell in love with them. Now I found a TJ that's almost like a newer 2 door XJ. Nearly the same wheelbase, 4.0, auto, a/c, d30/d44...and convertible soft top...

I got the LJ and 5.9 in the garage.

Ive never cared how the body looked. Its rough needs work here and there, but Im not afraid to scratch it.
Rockers were rotted out. So I cut them out and put in 2x6
Floors were next. Fixed the passengers and have yet to get to the drivers.

Lockers would be nice but I find it more challenging open open. Ive got an 8.8LSD in the garage for when the 35 takes a dump but so far its stil going strong at 257K miles on it.
I think overall I have around $2000 bucks in it as it sits including the Jeep and love every minute of it.

Mine is still 99% rust free, the rockers had Zero rust when I bought it. I like to keep it somewhat pretty but now that the hatch is a different shade of blue and my passenger side door is pushed in....i'm not so worried about it.

The AW4 may be identified as a model #30-43LE for 2wd versions and as a model #40-30LE for 4wd versions.

just saw this group pop up on fb...nothing like people advertising their own stupidity. i recognize some places where people have posted videos and pics and ACTUAL street names that i have been on while scouting for geese. even in a lifted xj...even when i had mud tires on...somehow i resisted the temptation to tear them up. oh wait, it wasn't even tempting. sometimes i just want to slap some people
