No such thing - it's either an ISO PC 10.9 or 12.9, I forget. Probably 12.9.

uh, no, no, no, and hell no - there is a reason the factory used such a hard, expensive bolt. The reason it's such a damn hard bolt from the factory is that the torque spec is 74 foot pounds (100 N-m) - on a 10mm bolt. I want to see you torque an 8.8 or similar M10x1.5 bolt to that without stripping it out, snapping it, or stretching it.

You know why "there should be no stress on the bolt except torque"? Because the extreme tension on the bolt from torquing it so much results in the forces applied by the track bar never passing the point where the coefficient of static friction between the track bar bracket and the center sleeve in the track bar bushing is not sufficient to handle the load.

And this is why Ken is my favorite Nerd! :D

I should probably but the right bolt in mine...

bought a netgear neotv last night...gonna give this hulu plus and netflix thing a shot. watched some tv last night on it and it seems to work fine. the only time it hung up was during a commercial so it didn't bother me. still have to grab an antenna of some sort for local tv...i think it going to work out just fine. I really don't watch much tv, but the wife does. she tends to dvr everything anyway, so i don't see a point in having cable to watch things in real time.

My point was How, and Why the system works. Thank you for the indepth explaination of the system :)
I tend to use a GR8 SAE bolt there :P

"Gutntichet is not a torque spec"(tm)
My point was that your conclusion was dead wrong - for instance the torque spec on an 8.8 M10x1.5 bolt is 606 kg-cm, which works out to 60 N-m. Basically, if you torque an 8.8 M10x1.5 to the factory 100 N-m spec for the track bar, it will probably be either broken, stretched, stripped, or on the ragged edge of ending up like that. Ill considered advise like that... kills. Quite literally in this case. Chrysler pinches pennies (just look at the headlight wiring for a great example), they don't put expensive 10.9 and 12.9 bolts in the suspension for no reason.

Might be a good idea :nono: lol

You can get away with a lot more if you upgrade to a 7/16 or 1/2 grade 8 bolt, the torque spec to achieve the same preload on those is somewhat lower and they're a lot harder to break, so you can somewhat safely go with "crank on that sucker till it feels good" because the difference between too low torque for proper preload and unsafe overtorque is much larger.

I only have netflix but i have been told netflix is way better than hulu

The internet streaming services really depend on good Intardnet connectivity. If you have to go through a congested hop, you're screwed. In theory, I've got a 20mbps downlink (I usually get it up to 15mbps or so, best case,) but in the evenings, it'll easily drop to half that. Congested links will lead to either buffering problems, or digital artifacts as the video streaming adapts to your lower bandwidth capability.

Since in your eyes I will never be right about this, or anything else, why don't you just put me on your "ignore" list and go have a soda. Sounds like your going to explode for absolutely no reason.

:dunno: I was perfectly calm when I wrote that and still am. You gave bad advise, I corrected it, end of disagreement.

I just don't want bad info killing someone who didn't know any better, that's all.

so far so good...

i like hulu plus better personally. current episodes of most new shows. some of the shows go back a few seasons, so there is a lot to watch :) i actually haven't been that impressed with netflix. movie selection isn't that great, and theres not a lot of shows that are up to date. they are both good...together they actually compliment each other fairly well. For $15, is more tv than i'll ever need

It is. I've seen it wheel a few times.
JIM.

LIKE^^^^^ I actually contemplated contacting ol' Mikey to see if he wanted to part with it b/c I knew it was a capable and well built rig. Congrats on the purchase JIM
