So how much better fuel mileage will this give the truck and trailer...

All I'm keeping is the wing, the rest is booger welded...ill make it with fresh steel and booger welds.

mac 'any improvement with quickly offset the cost' gyvr

Mac, with all the inputs calculated, my best estimate on your current set up is .25 mpg increase, but if you would have kept that Dodge, it would have increased the milage to the point that your truck would have been producing excess diesel (we all know that Dodges get 73 mpg up hill on double axle weight tows)

Cheese "thats a huge bitch!" Man

We all know Dodges get 30 mpg at 80 mph towing 30k.

Even at .25 mpg better I would make up the cost of what I'm going to have in the wing fairly quickly.

mac 'will have about 1/5th of new cost in it 'gyvr

Is that Byron's old Xj?

mac 'anyone want to buy a gas golf cart for 2500?' gyvr

Yikes!

New gun shop in town opened up a couple months ago after the whole panic started. Always seen cars there but finally had the time to stop in.

Walk up to the front door there's a sign with "rules" I suppose you would call them. Walk inside there's 8'x8' room with a couch, another door, a doorbell, and a sign telling you to ring it to request permission to enter the store. Ok then....

Some lady walks in and holds the door open so I walk inside. I'm greeted by two 2 guidos that look like they're from that MTV show and some fat mofo that looks like a zit about to pop. Neither say a word to me.

There's AR's, AK's, AT4 rocket launchers, tacticool this, bling bing that, every color you can imagine. There's old guys throwin cash around like nothing, buying $32.99 (yes $32.99) boxes 20 round boxes of Herters 7.62 and guys trading they're Walmart under- the-counter-ammo-deals-in-original-shipping-boxes-unopened-with-walmarts-address-on-it trades for god knows what.

Finally after making awkward eye contact with "The Situation" he asks me whats up. I tell him nothing just browsing. Seeing these candy-blue AR's and pimp daddy gold px4's perked my interest so I asked him if they offer any coating services. Seeing he is confused I start throwing out terms like Cerakote and whatnot for an AK I'm building. Apparently the "building an AK" blew his mind and made him more confused. At that point I told him never mind and left.

I thought I seen it all, but I keep thinking to myself after seeing wads of old man cash on the tables and tons of cars outside. Why didn't I think of this... The panic is still strong in New Lenox IL

thank God people cant spell.....I was scouring CL and came across a random listing for a "67 cehvy" and it was posted on Feb 12th...I called the guy bc it looked like a good deal, almost too good by the pics. He said it was his grandpas old truck and he inherited it and drove it a year and it just is not his style. He also said it needed a pan gasket and he did not know how to work on stuff. He said he has not had a single call on it and needs cash bad (bad thing to tell me!) so I cut the price in half from even his lowered price in the phone call....and he accepted it. I am rolling out saturday morning for a 4 hour drive there to get it. Once I pull the front clip I can scrap the rest and come out even for purchase price and the diesel it will take to go get it. Hell, it even has a clear title too.....

Cheese "or save the rest for another future project" Man

I think I'm going to paint my jeep camo this summer... Think the surplus store had military paint, how much does it take to roll ~3 coats on a jeep?

Just before WF, I pulled the NEON out to free up a nce comfey stall for the XJ while I went though it. When I went to pull it back in, the drivers side rear wheel really didn't want to roll very well and seemed like it was sticking. Hmmm. Got it in the garage, and off to WF I went - It could wait.

Pulled off the drum today and saw something I have not seen in the entire time I have been working on stuff. The brake linings came unglued from the shoes.

Lucky, it was just my driveway ;)

But I remember when they went away from rivets and went to glue and I always wondered if that kinda stuff could happen.

I'm thinking my rear brakes are either way out of adjustment on mine or they need replaced. and the e-brake adjusted too! :D

Disk brakes ftw!

Agreed! Unfortunately on a Neon you gotta swap a bunch of SRT parts on to get disks and you need a 16" wheel to clear them! The 8.8 on the Jeep has disks!
