I am rolling out saturday morning for a 4 hour drive there to get it. Once I pull the front clip I can scrap the rest and come out even for purchase price and the diesel it will take to go get it. Hell, it even has a clear title too.....

Tyler, I hope that nobody else finds that and has ready cash. Wrong spellings or typos are commonly looked for.

I love my 8.8, even though it eats tires...
I'm gonna start looking into MC and prop valve swaps, my rear brakes dont seem as good as they should be.

Lucky, it was just my driveway ;)

But I remember when they went away from rivets and went to glue and I always wondered if that kinda stuff could happen.

I Had a 97 or 98 neon before the jeep. did the same thing, i thought it was from all the Ebrake slides....maybe its a "thing"
 
That chevy is the kinda deal you have to jump on... been there done that!

I bet you could double or triple your money over time if you park it in the back 40 and part it out instead of just scrapping it. And make a whole lot of old chevy restorers happy in the process.

Find a WJ in the bone yard and nab the booster, MC, and valve.

It hadnt had a single call since it was listed in the begining of february, so I am not too concerned. He gave me until Saturday evening to come get it....but I have been stung by last minute sells before.

I currently have a 69 SWB that I am tinkering with but my big project is this 67 short bed stepside that I am building form the ground up. I bought a c-notched freshly powercoated frame and have put in a 73-87 front cradle w/ upgraded disk brakes, 2.5" drop spindles, 3" drop front coils, 5" rear drop coils w/ 1" block, CPP cross members, custom built trailing arms, the cab is getting a work over with all new rockers, corners, kicks etc, the stepside bed is virtually rust free so it gets soda balsted and then off to paint. The 67 I am picking up this weekend is going to be the donor for the front clip and I am thinking I am going to just snatch the I6 out of it and put in the 69 and just use it a shop truck/cruiser. Kind of like a flat black with no frills rig..something a greaser or flat biller would drive...but I would be sporting my seed hat instead :farmer:

my neighbor has a 56 ford im doing...he finally bought a truck so i know what im working with now. He wants to do a chevy subframe in the front and drop the rear pretty hard. you ever subframed anything cheseeman?
 
I picked up 400 rounds of .223. $100 :D

Flexd'only thing that would make that better is if his sister came with it'XJ

That was a lovely commute this morning at 25-28 degrees and light snow, roads were rather slick. Forecast for tomorrow is less pleasant.

if you are talking about cutting and welding in a sub frame, I have helped with one, but never doen one all on my own start to finish. This project I am doing now has the 73-87 chevy trcuk sub frame under it and it is a basically bolt on swap. It lined up to 8 of the 10 holes and I only had to drill the other 2 and it was ready to bolt up.

When we did a frame chop/weld in subframe swap, it was in an old chevy truck like a 53 I think. I dont even remember what fron end we put under it, something like a mustang 2 front end or corvair..something weird like that. It was pretty simle, just a lot of measuring and using large diamond (fish mouths) for plating and reinforcing the welded joints. Did I mention lots of measuring. Main thing was finding a given spot to pull from and keeping everything square...which is easier said then done on an item that has less then perfect tolerances from a plant in 1953 :D

How does the Paypal scam work on Craigslist? I'm messing with a scammer now and I just don't understand how they use Paypal and you someone how don't get paid.

Dude said his name is "brown" and is out of town (CA) but willing to pay full price for the "item". Gotta be a scammer.
 
they can send funds that wont clear or will get recalled. I have jacked with them before. I have replied to them stating that they can have it up front and just send me the money later, go ahead and send your driver..its all good. No drivers have ever shown up to pick up anything....and I usually give them our address at our hog barns...if they did show up and shit went down, I have 6000 hogs to help with evidence :D
