Important

I'll be working on the heep/grading till 8pm tonight... Bec at conferences at her school which gives me an excuse to stay here and tinker, I mean work...

looks like i will be there sat night of wf this year, just have to see what time i'm getting off the job to know when i'll roll in. its gonna be REALLY hard not to stop at cabelas in hammond though on the way down ;)

bypassing cabelas would be easy, take 94 to 394 instead of going 94 to 80 to 41. 394 would take you to rt 1 and go into a couple small towns, following 1/17 when you get to grant park you can either keep following 1/17 into momence or follow 17 east right into IN41. if you go the momence way once you get into town you can then take 1/17 into 114 (turns into rt10)east to IN41. this all bypasses the northwest IN traffic that no mater what time you go you will be in traffic. what ever you do if you step into cabelas make sure you have at least 2-3 hours to kill. i went in there to pay my bill (simple 10 minutes tops) walked out 3 hours later with a pistol.

this snow storm is man made and is intended to keep people locked in so the gov can track you can come take your guns.

Put powerstop brakes (pads and rotors) on the F350 right before the trip out west. 5k later and they are warped. Called them and then wanted to know if I did the proper break in procedure. I said, I break my brakes in, but didn't follow a specific procedure. They then directed me to the proper procedure on their website. I said no, I didn't do that specifically. They said, well when we send you your new set of brakes and pads (for free), do it to them to keep it from happening.

mac 'breaking in the brakes...hopefully spelling the correct brake...break...' gyvr

I lined my roof with tinfoil so i don't have to wear a hat while sleeping.

Well I need new tires... This is the Passenger Front tire. ITs hard to see in the picture, but the rubber is splitting on the manufacturer seam, all the way around the tire. (Again these tires were known for it, one of the reasons they stopped making them).

Well the Jeeps getting trailer-ed down, I will beat it like a red-headed step child. IF they blow, they blow... I will drag it back to the trailer and take it home.

run those biotches at 5 psi and never drop below 5000 rpms the whole weekend...something will blow one way or the other.....may be Flex, who knows....

Cheese "chipped beef" Man

RIP :(
I love ugly jeeps because you can bash them around and not feel bad in the least.
yes, but I hate working on rusted piles, and it's why the MJ is perpetually broken.

We have a shiny new XJ to wheel for a bit, so now's the time to do it right and start over with the knowledge I gained from the first one.

I trust it to wheel, i just don't know if I trust it to drive 2 hours on the interstate at 75 mph. If I had a tow rig i'd bring it but unfortunately I don't. I'm driving it to work tomorrow if the weather gets as bad as they say. Guess I could make sure my AAA is good for the year and chance it! :D Still need to get my shock mounts welded on or i'm wheeling with 3 shocks. I just really hate not having all my vehicles driveable at all times and the Neon is leaking coolant from what I think is the water pump so i need to see if my buddy can change that asap so I don't have 2 broken vehicles!

dude, its a hundred miles. Drive it, if it breaks I'm sure someone can get it home for you. Get AAA.

neons like to have the plastic water outlet warp/crack and not seal, check that.

doing some random online searches on common problems for crank but no start on the 97 civic. came across a post that went something like this "youz got to change your dizzy yo" . WTF F'in civic guys. lol

we got sams jeep ready so quick for the 2011 crawl i didnt have time to replace all the f***** axle bearings in the rear....we just brought it and wheeled the shit out of it

I have Good Sam coverage for my trailer and tow rig...

mac '$100 bucks a year is cheaper than one tow' gyvr

Thanks Nate, I'll have him check that as well. Its about 23k over on the timing belt change and I have the pump and timing belt already. I have AAA. I'll be paying that tonight(i'm good til the 1st)since i'm driving it to work in the morning with Ice on the way. I know 4wd is no better in ice than a fwd car but its a lot easier to get out of a ditch! :D

And even if you do... tow rigs break too :)

Does Good Sam send you tons of crap in the mail? I am about to drop AAA just because I'm sick of all the crap they send me, it's misleading. "Important information about your membership" = life insurance, credit cards, blah blah blah. I know they give away my information and try to sell my stuff to subsidize towing my junk 100 miles, but still...

Flexd don't be a pansy, I'd trust a sketchy Jeep over a tip-top Neon any day of the week... If you make it at least halfway up here and it breaks I will come get you, any less than that and you are somebody else's problem!

Oh I guess I'll already have the camper and my Jeep loaded up... well... maybe I'll come get you :D

SF did pretty well for me a couple of years ago when I blew a hose running up Wolf Creek Pass at 9,000', east of Pagosa Springs, CO.

I got me some ammo! Two of hte calibers I needed for the matches I want to do. Even got two BX 25 mags for 22 a piece.

SF being State Farm? That's who I'm insured though and I've always been pretty happy with them (sorry Austin). Maybe I'll look into their plan next time I see my agent.

I've had the emergency road service with State Farm for years, although I have only used it once in 13 years. My policy says something like "to the nearest shop", but the wrecker dumped it at my apartment, and SF still paid me for the tow with no questions asked. I haven't looked in years, but it was stupid cheap when I started carrying it.
