Important

Thought about that, but looking down the hole at the #1, it appears to be a motorcraft, also looks a tad rusty.... I'm going to leave this can of worms alone...

i dont blame you....my boss wanted me to changle plugs in his 4.6 expy, looked at the back 2 and told him to pay someone else to do it :D

i would at least put some pb blaster down in them, the heating and cooling cycle will help it penetrate better. Maybe theyll be ready the next time you take a crack at it

i did plugs in my 8.1 in 10 minutes....chevy has its advantages

I'll take a crack when its warmer out and the Jeep is drive-able, in case I f###-up...

Been doing a lot around here lately... Working on everything but the Jeep... Prepping the floorpans has just been killing me, I might just do the drivers floor-pan for now and wait to do the rest after WF...

you've got a ton of cans of worms open now, why open another one?

I had it in my mind to do oil, air filter, fuel filter, and spark plugs on the 150 before I head out for WF... Thinking oil/air/fuel now, they're easy...

I got the tail lights working on the Jeep, Friday I get the WJ seats from Phil, and I think I'm just going to bed-line the drivers area and call it for a month or so...

I used to drive a Fiero GT (transverse 2.8l V6.) The forward 3 sparkplugs got changed by Braille, there was no way to see them.

I don't know how much of a difference it makes, but I only use WD40 for light lube. Anything that requires a penetrating oil, I use PBB on. WD40 has never been good, at least in my experience, for anything else but lubricating.

Got the tranny serviced on the Tahoe this morning. The fluid was still clean with only normal crap floating around.

Fore '$100 worth of insurance' Wheeler

Its not a dodge, you shouldn't have to worry! :D

PBB now has a product the call blaster 50... cause its better than WD-40.

BTW... still not coming to WF. Instead of a last minute work trip like 9 of the last 10 years, or the college visit I thought we had. I now get to take a troop of Boy Scouts winter camping. I get a weekend of trying to keep a pack of wild boys from setting a gigantic fire and burning something down, instead of getting to enjoy a pack of wild boys doing those things.

Borrowed this to go pick up a jeep.

Holy crap the new ones are nice!!! Comparing this to my 05 is like comparing a pinto to a new Caddy.

Unions are gay. I just got passed up for a well deserved promotion because of a weeks seniority. Dont mind that the guy cant read a tape measure and now is responsible for inspecting everything in the machine shop.. He has used the color of his skin as an excuse since day one.

I am for unions, but this is where I disagree with unions. My work went from five full time people to two back in 2008. The guy who had been here 50 and 1/2 years retired. That left four of us. The person above me has been here years longer then me, she was safe. I had a job by months. Had the other guy been here longer, he might have had the job. Chances are, they would have fired him before it got to that though. He was an idiot and I had to clean up his messes that was left for me. Everyone else had far less time in here.

Unions were great in the 20's when we didn't have laws to protect workers. Now they just produce a lazy workforce.

^ that could not be any more right. Since I started here a day hasnt gone by where I havent been told I was working too hard.. We have guys that are obviously stoned or drinking and nobody cares until someone gets hurt. Some of the boring bar operators will turn the coolant on and let it spin and spray without cutting so they look busy. Unions make dumb and lazy people feel important in my opinion. Grown men whining like 4 year olds, filing grievences because a supervisor asked them to do him a favor. Its rediculous

All GM minivans with the 3.1/3.4 are the same way, the back three have to be done blind. PITA, especially when they are the originals.

This is not right either, unions should protect the guys who actually do their jobs and not the ones who are idiots and lazy.

And Chevy Malibu's. I didn't know much about cars when I had my Malibu other then oil changes and brakes, so a friend did the three facing the fire wall. I tried to put the new plug wires on, but I didn't get them in the right order. He was more knowledgeable on them so he got it going right.

2001 F150 with the 5.4L Triton

Attempting to remove Spark Plug #1 next hour to see if they are originals... Pulled COP, blew out debris, sprayed a ton of wd40 in... We'll see what happens....

3 Valver?

UPDATE

I let the #1 soak in some wd40 for about 30min. With a 3/8 ratchet, I cannot get it to crack loose... Thinking original and I should just drive it till it stops running, or I trade it...

Let the motor get hot

Havent tried this yet. Ive gotten to where I just break them all off and use the special tool to get them out. Im quicker at pulling the old part out with the tool then farting around with the stuck plug, trying not to break it.

If its the three valve Id get the removal tool from lisle and then tackle it on a saturday after Wf. First trip on them kind of sucks but after the first one itll go quicker.

And if its not a 3 valve just go to town on it. Havent pulled threads out on one yet. Done a bunch of them. The only ones Ive had to put inserts in had plugs blow out on them randomly.
