We had no choice in the move. The people that used to own the television station (they still owned the radio station) sold the building to a developer who built a new office building. They moved out a month or so ago. When we decided not to move into their new building, we got our own. Ours is way nicer also. They are cramped into a 1/3 of a floor and one employee I talk to hates it. We have a two story building that finally got completed. First floor is the studio and newsroom. There is a 1/2 floor with offices, cubicals and a desk. Then the second floor is sales and administrative people. I am on the 1/2 floor (mezzanine level). Our building that we just broadcasting from for the final time was built around 1900 as a jean factory. The old coal hopper and furnace was still down there. If anyone is ever in the Terre Haute area, send me a pm and if I am working or free, I will show you the new building. If you have little kids, they are always amazed at the chroma key wall and how they could be like a weather person.
The old building will be standing until November 6th, that is when the developer will start tearing it down.
