SO friggen pissed right now. :flamemad:

Spent alot of blood and sweat setting up the chicken run/coop and my Fiancee's dog ends up climbing the fence for the run and kills the whole flock. Bad part was my 10 y.o. kid went to check on the special two she hatched and see's my Fiancee's dog eating it. May be burying a dog yet. Fiancee's lazy ass never goes outside to see what the commotion was when she tells me she heard the chickens making alot of noise. Ready to boot her arss too for not having a job and not doing sh## around the house.

i did this to my 30 recently... i got lucky and was able to drill it out luckily.

obviously i started small when drilling. i spun the bolt deeper and deeper. i was hoping to grab it with the bit and be able to pull it out, but had no such luck. i also had the right tap laying around. i suggest getting a tap that matches the original bolt size and then drilling up to the size you normally would to to tap with your tap. at that point there should be very little of the bolt left, and the tap should remove it.

worked for me... your results may vary. good luck.

Drilling out I suggest going and buying the cryogenic drill bits from Home Depot. They are the Rigid brand. I drilled out a manifold bolt and it walked through like butter. Use WD40 or spray oil as a coolant on the bit and item being drilled. Start small and work up slowly. Some pressure against the bit but do not force it and when you get to the end go easy as they are extremely hard and will snap. That same bit I used for drilling a snapped stainless steel stud out of aluminum. All I can say is they have finally made a decent bit.

In other news Fiancee slept on the couch. Dog slept tied out. Is it bad I was hoping that the dog would encounter the wolves, coyotes, or bear by me?:firedevil

Cutting oil is the preferred lubricant. The problem I always have with a penetrating oil and drill bits is the stuff just evaporates. A little bottle of cutting oil is only like 5 bucks.

x1000 on the good drill bits. I drilled a header stud out of a sportster cylinder head once and was seriously afraid I was going to buy a new head, but the bit worked and I took my time. You just have to remember that the bit is designed to cut and you are not supposed to push it through whatever you're trying to drill. Low rpms, a good oil and patience goes a long way.

I'll be bolting in my control arms tomorrow. I'm sure we won't get the caster anywhere near perfect but it'll be close enough. Luckily, my mechanic is also a very good alignment guy So I'll take it to his shop. May just switch him Jeeps for the day, his XJ has leather! :D

Next week, the shackle boxes and hoodvents will be going on, and maybe my new intake if I can find a 3" hole saw.

You can get a magnetic angle gauge at HF for like 5 bucks. Set it on top of the knuckle and get it set so you don't have to take the arms out to mess with them a bunch.

Wait....

your supposed to get an alignment after changing the CA's

fawkit it drives straightish

I pay a lot for my drill bits, more that I should, but I buy them at the corner hardward 2 miles from my house. The bits I buy have a lifetime replacement warranty against anything that will make them not cut. My latest replacement was my 1/2" bit that I brought back to them in three pieces.

and they cut real well too.
