Having netflix I almost forgot what commercials were. :D
Or a DVR that's *NOT* provided by your cable or dish provider.

TimeWarner has just patented a method to prevent commercial skipping. This is a *REALLY* good reason to not get a bundled DVR with your cable subscription.

you need to find a job
1% of available jobs in Green Bay are applicable to me. And that is going out of the box of being a technician. Everything requires a degree, experience I don't have, is seasonal or minimum wage.

I wouldn't know these things if I weren't looking...

Though the place that fired me has another tech leaving today... There really isn't anything in the automotive field.

I would put Mitch at the head of any business.

He's a business man that knows how to run a business.

He has run Indiana as a business and we are one of two states that are not in debt.

mac 'wish he would run for President' gyvr

Agreed.

Yep. Been free of cable and dish for almost 2 years now. Netflix is where it's at.

I don't understand why there has to be hostility between the two departments. Most of the parts guys I have worked with are stand up guys. Though there have been a couple instances when dealing with certain people makes things difficult.

I don't like having a former tech as a parts guy. They try to diagnose the issue as you order parts. Just gimme my damn parts...

My mom and sister were involved in a head on crash in the past hour. My mom's friend called and said they are okay. They are going to the hospital just in case. Hopefully the deal she got on this van was good enough to pay off the loan and have some left over to have a descent down payment on another van. Sucks that it happened so soon after replacing the transmission. I will add that if I can help, she won't be getting another GM mini van with the 3400 90°v6. Between the transmission (common problem) and the potential for intake gasket leak, they are on the same list as the Chrysler minivans (because of transmissions).

Good thing GM never made a 3400 90* v6...because the 3400 60* v6's get 30mpg in that application...And transmissions aren't a common problem in those vehicles. I've never seen one replaced.

And I commend you on being concerned about her next vehicle.

You are right, I wasn't thinking right. I disagree about the transmissions being a problem in those vans though. I read many reviews where the transmissions had to be replaced. I know the intake manifold gasket was leaking on her van. I would love to find a rust free Toyota Previa, but Toyota and rust free are two things that don't get along. Plus Previa's are hard to find. The Previa she had years ago was awesome (but a pain in the butt to work on). It had well over 250k on it and the only thing that was ever replaced big was the steering rack. The only other van she has had beside the Montana was a 91 Caravan that had the transmission replaced.
