A week from Friday, I'm going to see Heart and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts at an outdoor venue. I'm pretty sure that everything is just going to be temporary, not even a pavilion. I'll see if I can get some pics of the staging before the show starts.

On a completely unrelated note, Penn & Teller put on a good show on Friday night, very entertaining, well orchestrated and staged. They're master showmen.

well...literally thousands of shows happen every summer, and there are usually a few problems every year, however 4 big incidents have happened in the last 3 years so its now in the public eye. the roof that flipped over last year wasn't anchored properly, the sugarland roof came down because of stupidity on 3 levels...the roof company, the road manager and promoter, the radiohead roof was overloaded (that style of roof cant hold as much as a truss roof)...but it will put a lot of heat on the guys who have been doing things right for years. people just need to learn how to say "no" and this crap won't keep happening.

This applies in so many places, not just temporary staging.

Last week I finally got my Good Sam Platinum Roadside Assistance. It was $110 for a year. They tow it all if it breaks. They change tires, have fuel, lots of other benefits.

Today I ordered three sets of these:RV level blocks per a suggestion from Rev after this:

My Good Sam membership saved me over $20 on the three sets of blocks and saved me the $22 in shipping...its 1/3 paid for itself already.

Going to see Korn on Wednesday night.

At a bar.

Where there is A/C.

We have reserved seats in the handicap area for the wife to not get pushed around.

The Doctor ok'd this, said it might piss the baby off but won't harm.

We went to a few shows when my Fiancee was pregnant i usually leaned over her from behind with my elbows pointing out over her shoulders and if anybody got past our friends standing in front of us they'd get a HARD elbow.
(or kick if they came in low)

Yelling Shes pregnant at a guy your helping up off the ground seems to get them to back off pretty quickly. LOL

In my defense though they had to crash through my buddies first !

So what is a solution to the exhaust ports not lining up? What is different between the 97 and 2000 exhaust? Thanks for the help!

Earlier motor into later XJ? The exhaust ports are a little different, but it's posted somewhere around here that the later header will cover the 0630 ports. Couple of threads I have bookmarked, might shed some light on things.

Adapter plate if the header doesn't cover the ports.

A head swap is another option that guarantees things fit, but not handy if you can't get your hands on a '02 (is it '02 or '03? Regardless, the TUPY casting) or later head cheaply.

I've got a lighter set of those leveling blocks for my pop-up, picked them up shortly after I bought it over 10 years ago. Very useful.

Thank you very much for the information. Now I am confused and have to read up on this different head stuff. :D

okay, I removed one of my cylinders on my hydro steer. now I have 2 1/2 turns to the left, and 4 turns to the right, lock to lock.

Is this cuz this must be a tractor cylinder that is designed to only push?

I talked to Lance from PSC this morning (super great guy), he somewhat said this may be what I would get. He was unable to look up the numbers on my O Valve to find exactly what I have. He also said that the stock p/s pumps are much better than anyone gives them credit for and said for me not to buy one of their pumps right now.

back to the PSC website to look for the cylinder I need.

found a 4.10 geared D30 on GL4x4. guy is not willing to split them up the 35 he has. thinks the stuff is worth $750... i dont think he understands that the welded 35 is scrap to me. yes... welded, this means it probably came off of something beat on, im sure our definitions of a "DD" differ.

keep the cylinder... replace the jeep.

Dan It's because it takes more volume to fill one side of cylinder due to the fact the shaft is not taking up volume. The only way it will be even one way to the other is to get a double ended ram. Give me the I.d. of the tube of the cylinder and the shaft diameter and length of stroke and I can tell you a little more about your valve and probably point you in a good direction for your cylinder.

IIRC, what you've got is a double acting single ended cylinder, you get pressure on both extension and retraction and the rod only shows on one end of the cylinder. Unless there's a restriction orifice on one side, I don't see how you'd get more force in one direction than the other.

A single acting cylinder only has hydraulic pressure on one side of the piston, and depends on some external force (gravity or springs) for motion in the other direction. I really doubt that you've got a single acting cylinder.

As far as 2.5 turns one direction and 4 the other, assuming full hydro steering, that means that your cylinder isn't centered when your wheels are.

Make sure you have a good solid surface to set them on, they twist and break and sometimes sink into soft ground.
I use a small piece of ply-wood.

x2. I bought two 8' 2x6s at Lowes, 45*ed the ends and use them as a base for the orange leveling blocks. More often than not where we camp in state parks the boards are all I need to level.

I got lucky and scored 25 of the orange blocks at a yard sale last year for $5 :D

Urk. Good point. I'm used to tractor hydraulics with more than enough flow to displace the piston rod volume.

I will get some boards to put under the blocks.

With all this prep, we will probably have a flat place to park in IL for Dirt Riot and in Harlan at the campground...

Looks like my work will become non union for the first more then likely (I don't know when union was started). At least the paper work in my locker will decrease. I will become free lance union ($5 less in dues a month) so when a free lance job or two come up, it will be worth it to me.
