Any idea the bore of the cylinder, and is that a 6" stroke?

if you use a single ended ram you will have a different number of turns one way to other no matter what.

I have a single ended cylinder. Its PSC. Turns the same in both directions, same number of turns each way.

I think Dan has a paired system, losing one results in steering turns that don't match. Must be in the way those cylinders are paired.

Well, I must be crazy! Taking my "Just Empty Every Pocket" membership and adding to it a "Bust Out Another Thousand" subscription. Probably going to buy a 19 ft runabout later this week.

Anybody want to share their experience pulling a boat with an XJ? I'm looking at about 3,500 lbs of boat and trailer. The trailer will have surge brakes once I repair them and the XJ has a rear disc conversion.

The math just doesn't work. There must be something special about your orbital. Is diameter of your shaft small (steering ram that is)?

okay, talked to Lance, I have an Ag cylinder. An ag cylinder is built differently than an off road cylinder. He said that a single ended cylinder WILL turn differently lock to lock, but the ag cylinder has a much more significant differance due to the way it's built.

I bought a new cylinder.

I asked him what I needed and with out hesitation rattled off the part number. $225 and I've got a PSC cylinder in the mail.

I hope this will work, and if it doesn't I will be buying a new O Valve.

As it is, I'm only running 32s and don't have any problems steering. though I haven't been in any situations yet that I would have to fight with rocks or anything. I don't know when power steering mods become necessary.

Been using stock steering box unassisted for the past 10 years on 38's, I needed it a it a long time ago.
