If it were a manual (which its not) you still dont want to have to engine brake, especially in an emergency situation .

Yeah, completely understood, just curious what the symptoms are when engine braking. I figure it would make it pretty clear whether it was brake or suspension/drivetrain related.

Not too clear on how autos aside from the aw4 engine brake, either... and clearly this isn't an aw4 :gee:
there not supposed to look like that ^^^^

sad thing is when i was a young'n i drove with one like that in my front axle for about 6months
I drove 15 miles home on it. Didn't know it was broke til I pulled it in the garage.

Is JCR the only one that make an aftermarket steering box spacer?

Is the Rugged Ridge steering setup an alright bolt-in steering kit?

Is the Durango steering box worth it?

I got pissed at the Jeep the other night and broke stuff... I kept telling myself to call it a night before I broke stuff but I didn't listen.

Thanks.

I do think I already talked myself out of the RR kit because of reviews. Just something to get it back on the road for now in the meantime while I get the parts for the WJ knuckles (hubs, wheels/tires, ball joints, steering components, track bar bracket (I think)). Now that I look at that list maybe I'll bump that further down the road and find an upgrade...

I do know that tie rods don't put up much of a fight to a grinder, and don't work pissed off it just gets worse.

1 - CROK or make you're own like me, some 3/16 plate and 1in round stock...

2 - RR is meh... Theres better, I think I'm getting 1-ton locally and then some 1.5in DOM with 3/8 wall and make my own...

3 - Durango Box is well worth it!!!! At least in my book... Next to my JCR skid, one of the best things I've ever done on the Heep... Just make sure to get the pitman arm on straight... While you're at it, throw a ZJ pitman arm on...

Durango box rocks, so does the v8 zj tie rod. I haven't managed to break either on 33s. I used my zj tie rod on the xj like it was a skidplate and it bounced back, never did bend it.
