Yeesh. That's not good. Based on that, maybe you should fly.

I was gonna pick up a hitch for mine there at WF. If you want to buy it and put it on at WF, I don't mind.
You managed to find an MJ hitch? They're impossible to find out here.

yeah, that's my major worry. If I fix the rear frame enough by end of next weekend that I think it'll fly, I won't fly. If it won't fly, I will. :wow:

On further thought, I think that you'd be wise to PM Rev Den *NOW*, and talk this over with him.

It's one thing when it's yours... :puke:

I leave water in the black tank year round. Blue stuff in the summer, antifreeze in the winter.

I've never had black or brown tanks before. The truck camper just had water. So right now they are empty and I've ran the RV antifreeze through all the lines. I was thinking about running another couple gallons through the lines and get some in the drains for the tanks...

I just blew my water lines out with air and poured some antifreeze down the drains for the j-traps and down the toilet for the black tank. Drained the grey tank. If you drain the black tank and leave it, any 'clumps' that didn't flush out will dry and will stick like concrete to the inside of the tank. After using the dump station I put enough water in the black tank to cover the bottom along with a packet of blue chemical. No clogging issues yet.

I will add a little more via the drains tomorrow.

This is all new on the waste tanks for me. I think they are both 60 gallons each, so they should hold a lot of crap...literally.

You will have to sift through a lot of JeepForum type noob stuff but there is good info.

For the rear, a hitch or aftermarket bumper is about all you can do. If you plan to use an aftermarket bumper it should be tied in more then the 8 normal bumper bolts.

Yes....we are picky about recovery points, almost killing someone because of a poorly mounted hook kinda sticks in your mind. I felt sick thinking about what another 2" could have done. The hook that was "mounted" to my stock bumper came loose and went THRU the windshield frame of a CJ-7 and hit the passenger in the chest, if it had hit the glass it would have gone into his chest.

A strap stores a huge amount of energy when used, the hook flew 30'. This is why we check all recovery points very well, and why we NEVER use shackles to join straps.

This is an MJ, which has been complicating things for me. An XJ I'd already have a hitch on it.

I completely understand, just trying to figure out what I can get away with :gee: I really don't want to be "that guy" who causes a giant recovery point drama fest.

I will plan on either a rear receiver or a proper bumper with OEM or greater strength recovery points.

With the Bounder, there was a hose that I hooked up to the water pump that drew the antifreeze into the pump/lines. Ran each faucet (starting w the furthest from pump) till it ran pink, then dumped enough in the drain to fill the traps. It took me less than 30 min.

Seriously, the hitch offer is out there, hell we can bolt it on your truck friday and take it off saturday!

That's not possible. You're already asking questions. I think it was WF Oh-10 when the dude went apeshit crazy after there were some disagreements with his front welded tow points. After that we really started to get picky.

You're leaps and bounds above what the problem folks are like.

I dont need another forum to check or read through :)

The problem is I had some stuff in the tanks, including water in the fresh tank, he had treated it, but there was about 10 gallons. I dumped all the fresh water to the other waste tanks. Including as much as I could down the toilet to help with what was in there. I then put two gallons of the pink stuff in the fresh tank and ran it through all the faucets.

I then dumped the tanks (don't ask). They are empty. I think I need to get another gallon or two and dump it down the drains and toliet to get a little in the waste tank.

Need a dump station at home.

My worry is that with the frame how it is right now, it might pass tech but if anyone pulls on it it'll tear the last foot of my driver frame rail off :shiver:

So tomorrow before heading to work I am going to measure it, then head for the metal supply house and pick up a piece of 3/16 or 1/4 box tube to sleeve it with. It really should be fixed anyways.

that is exactly the incident I am trying to avoid even coming close to.

See if your water utility will locate your sewer cleanout (Preferably without the trailer there :D). That was my plan but we always camp in state parks and dump before leaving.

I actually think that I know where that is...and its close to the driveway...

According to his build thread on Pirate, he is trying to get his rig ready so he can come wheel Winterfest..."not with NAXJA though"

That's kinda cheap.

I certainly hope nothing bad ever happens with his hooks. It would be the worst way for him to learn.

Does he know if he's not with NAXJA, its not Winterfest?

I will send you a link on how to turn an average garbage disposal into an RV shit tank pump.

I will look for it...
