I get you. I have made purchases like that, but not when the vehicle can't be driven...

It can be driven but the water pump may go at anytime so its an emergency vehicle until then. My brother drove it 30 miles to work everyday for a month after he hit that deer.

So I'm kinda pissed...

Couple months ago I bought a d30 4.10 ring and pinion off ebay and low and behold I pulled it out of the box today and low and behold its standard cut! So I sent a msg to the dealer hopefully able to get the right ones, but I am wondering if anyone has a set lying around??

I'll sell you a LP30 with trashed gears if that's easier to make it work. Happy to help!

Yes I'm joking...

I wish I would get my check for my free lance work two weeks ago, I want a color change.

I have had this take off BFG AT ko from an H2 for over a year. I've had it on craiglist a couple times. This last time it was listed since the last week in November.

Late last week I was contacted by a guy from Buffalo, NY. He wanted it. We checked shipping and found a quote online by Greyhound for $75 bucks. Lots cheaper than the $115 to $125 that UPS or Fex Ex wanted. The asking price for the tire was $150 (worth at least double that). We agreed to paypal.

One day after making the deal with him I was contacted by not 1, but two different people that were local to me. Both could come get the tire and pay me cash. I told them both that I had a deal in the works and as long as it worked out then the tire was sold.

Then I found out I have to build a box. So I take over an hour and 2.5 rolls of tape and build a box.

Then I put it in my truck and drive to the Greyhound station. They are closed. Not open again til 2pm. I have part time to work, so I have to figure out how to get a 35in tire in my company car. I cleaned the trunk out.

Finally get to greyhound about 205pm. There is a line. I'm fourth. After 15 minutes I finally get help. By this time there are ten people behind me in line. It cost me $89 bucks to ship the tire. It was $7 more and $7 in a fuel surcharge. He had pay pal'd me before I took the tire in. I didn't check it, get home and there is a $9 charge for paypal. I'm out an extra $23 bucks plus my time and tape...all just to be a man of my word...

I sent him an email about all of this asking if he could help me out.

Been there. I sold by truck toolbox on CL to a guy in KY, drove an hour to meet him in Henderson. When I got home I had 2 emails from people in town wanting to buy it.

This really doesn't give reasons for a rebuilt engine, unless he's using the wrong rockers for the rebuild. :dunno:

well makes me wonder how rebuilt the heads are...

Either off of Fish Creek Road, between U and Overland, or Overland Road near Shady Drive.
A third point would make it easier....

A: I kinda did give a third point, if you know aviation speak
B: You have lots of spare time
C: Good thing I remember where you live

Really? Wheels come before timing belt and water pump? Tell me you at least have those parts already?

So what? I bought gold subie five spokes for the Passat (which could really use a timing chain...) I was in your neck of the woods again, but didn't feel like bothering you guys. Sometime after the holidays maybe, I should really get those parts I need from Kimmer.

As for looking at WJ's:
I found that as long as the 4.7 had good oil in it, it was good to go. Same with the 545RFE! Seemed as though fluid upkeep is the big part of it; from the Quadra-Trac t-case to the Vari-loc diffs as well.

I was fortunate enough to buy my particular WJ from a dealership that fixed the blend doors before sale. Hand calculated an average MPG of 20 (pretty even city/hwy miles)
