I can now but by the time they need to be done again i'll be going to discs and every drum brake axle i ever have will have a disc conversion.......can you tell I hate drums? :D

i had a brake caliper go instantly once...suppose it would be similar. tried to hit the brakes and felt a "pop" and the pedal went to the floor. fluid was all gone by the time i stopped.
 
i had some one else do my rear brakes.......

he owed me a favor though to the tune of a rear brake job and alignment :D mine needed the line across the axle both wheel cyls shoes and drums.

Read my mind... I only have 10 drum brakes left. 4 are leaving when the axles they are on get removed and the other 6 are too heavy for me to want to mess with them at all. Drums alone weigh 80+ pounds each.

I put ZJ discs on the MJ's 8.25 rather than reassemble the almost brand new drum hardware they came with. $70 well spent.

Roads by me are very interesting. We had 5" of snow on the ground and they do not salt the roads by me let alone plow unless it is over 3". There is generally a snow and ice packed road here all winter. Last night ended up getting 1/2" of rain. Roads are a skating rink besides the main highway. Parked my work van on top of the hill in my driveway last night. This morning it is 8 feet from where I parked it. LOL
