Oil change and tire rotation in the Jeep today. Need to do front brakes again, Only been a little over a year since I did them. At least the pads are lifetime replacement from Auto Zone. Rotors will be about 50. Also need an alignment probably due to pot holes.

Im pretty pumped about the Winterfest page.

You know, as soon as I get my hitch next month and get a new d ring mount made (because the HF mount probably sucks and I have a friend that owns a metal company that can make me a nice one), I will be up for a nice run through the easy stuff at Badlands some time in January. I am 100% stock so I would only do easy stuff, but would like someone who knows the park better to lead me on the easy stuff.

I might as well make it 3 for 3 and say I'm going to show up for this WinterFest, and then not be able to make it.

it's more a matter of time than money :(

First time - I got a piece of metal in my eye trying to build the axles I needed to drive the jeep out there and didn't manage to finish in time. Trans died shortly after that anyways so I'm glad, else I would have been stranded somewhere in Ohio or so with a blown AW4 and never would have made it.

Second time - I bought a house and was frantically fixing my house up, hoping to move in around Christmas. That didn't happen and the jeep was in bad shape again...

This time - well, I'm living in the house now, but will the jeep make it there and back? Probably not even if I manage to get the time off from work

Perhaps you will make it this time? :sunshine:

More work done to Jeep today. I swore a lot. I think I'm going to name this one "Bitchjeep III". After bolting on the rear flares, I got to thinking about the bump stops. I have a set of upcountry ones around, so I figured I would swap them on. One of the bolts snapped off (*&^%$), so I figured I would unbolt the shock at the bottom so I could drill out the hole.

The lower shock bolt broke off... (***&^!!).

After welding on a new one, drilling and tapping the hole in the frame, and getting all that together... I decided to replace the rear pads.

Everything was a pile of rust and fought me...
every...
step...
of the way.

Then I bolted the hood vents back on that I had removed to repair rust damage under the grills.

One side finally done!:

I hope the other side doesn't take near as long!

Gettin fawked up tonight started drinkin labatts at bout noon wrenchin on the heeps. Now the father in law just made some homemade Apple pie. And this shit amazing!!!!

I've eaten a ton of cheese today and I had scrambled eggs for breakfast.

I'm fartin' like a cheeseman :passgas:

Long story short, if the wrong cam pick up wheel is installed on the 4.7 from dad's jeep it will go to shop and they will replace it...but I have to prove the reason it runs badly is the engine internals and not something we did on the install...

so the valve cover comes off Saturday afternoon. I'm selling the 2place and meeting the guy in Indy with in an hour of the engine shop...so I'll just drop the jeep off if its that cam pickup.

we had a rather spirited phone call today and i wasn't nice.
