Important

so i got my outboard "unseized" today with surprising ease...now what to do. i did a cold compression test (not really a reliable test) and got 115 in on cyl and 100 in the other. 110 is the minimum for a hot engine...hopefully i can get away with a hone job and some new rings! it would be nice to put abou $300 total in this motor to be able to sell it for $1500

There is a weird furd ranger here at, investigated and found a goofy guy with glasses. The ranger had a naxja sticker.....

Have a guy wanting to trade me a decked out long travel suspension Yamaha Rhino for my XJ...I am considering it......I know it HAS to have some sort of problem b/c he has well over 10K in it and my pile of crap is not worth 2K!!

my guess he will want me to buck up a lot of $...I am not interested in trading unless it is heavily weighted in my favor. A buddy of his told me not to do it b/c the kid has tried like 3 time to "adapt" a turbo to it and it is all screwed up. I am gonna take a look at it this evening and see what he has just for curiosity sake.

probably a bunch of punk kids...not punk adults like around this place :D

I dont see the trade transpiring into anything, but gonna look into it. I still will have a rig of some sort regardless...XJ based of course.

On a side note my dozer contractor told me of a early 90's XJ he has that he parked b/c it was having starting issues (CPS is my guess). it has some rust, but is good enough to run the stock class in the local tuff truck comps. I am gonna try and pick it up off him. I should hire Kimmer to be my driver! lol

and hell, sean doesn't even have a nacho machine! :D But his XJ lives on in others junk!

shes scorched a bit on the bottom cylinder, but not too bad...now to see if i can find a machine shop that will bore a mercosil block. either that or shes going on ebay for parts. i looked at completed listings the other day and the parts for this gal went for a grand total of a bout $1000! sweet

:)

Actually, I can't fix it, but it reminded me of Spicoli, so I had to post it for the Fast Times crowd :)

Just received my appraisal back. Noticed three small discrepancies, one being the type of road being gravel is incorrect, the other being the taxes are about 250 too high, and the third being the appliances. He only listed the dishwasher. He did not list the built in gas cook top or built in oven. Would those make a major difference in a market value? If so is it too late for the changes? Still learning on all this house refinancing. Way too many hoops to jump through.

they would help, but minimally...maybe a grand or so on appliances and the taxes woudl not have too much bearing on it.
