Well, the heep has a new starter, and it's started 5 times in a row now.

Still don't have a clue how shifting to 3rd or 5th allowed it to crank.

Also discovered the water pump gasket is leaking, so I have a new water pump, thermostat, and water outlet to put on when I get time.

True statement. I think it will be "like new" before dinner today.

Hank

It is a hobby, but when the goal is also DDer it applies a little pressure.

As far as trading with Egghead goes, I don't think either of us would trade something to each other if we knew it had a catastrophic issue. Both of our Jeeps needed some major TLC.

It's all good. And BTW wrenching on little jeeps is a PITA. I'm motivated to get back to 6" just because of it.

For someone with such a disdain for being visually active, your post padding made me giggle.

Jeep goes into the shop tomorrow morning, so I'm driving my sister's POS Ranger. It has some issues, and my BIL is either lazy, or criminally stupid. I thought my head was going to explode when I found out they were driving it around with the DS shackle and spring hanger rotted completely off the truck. I told them to fix it, in no uncertain terms. A year later, they have. I notice it's sitting a little funny, and stick my head underneath to see what his "fix" was.

He didn't want to spend the money on a shackle apparently, or has no idea how leaf springs work (his idea of maintenance is having someone else fix it, and stiffing them on the bill), so he bolted the spring directly to the shackle hanger. Just... wow.

So I'm wondering, with just a couple inches of lift, why the passenger side is so low. Surprise, no shackle there either.

I'm guessing it drives about as bad as it looks. Can't wait to pick my niece up after school; with any luck, we won't die.

I need to learn how to easily quote multiple people in one reply.

"visually active" and "completely useless" very different. :)

Push that middle quote button on the bottom right of the post, when you're ready to reply to them, hit the "quote" button. If you need any help just ask Flex :roflmao:

Shut up! :laugh3:

Attempted to pull my buddy's WJ out of a ditch today! Had my jeep and his buddy's WJ hooked together and it wouldn't move. Took a big rig to pull him out. Video to come tomorrow.

I'm just happy that you could find it. I tried one day to look it up and couldn't even find the damn thing...

There is definately an assortment of things to pick from...

That the Rustoleum truck bed stuff? That's what I used on my trailer, and I'm getting ready to repaint my brand new (crappy stock) rear bumper with it. Yay, repainting new parts... beats driving the danger ranger around though.

Maybe I'll give the heep its biannual bath tomorrow. Or not.
