Important

Bought an 08 F350 dually crew cab 4x4. Same color as the F450, so you have to look close to see the difference sitting in my driveway. The $150 buck less a month car payment my wallet will notice and hopefully the better fuel economy. Its got some miles @113k, but the motor was basically rebuilt under extended warranty at 111k. Credit union had a deal of 2.95%...got the truck for 22k...has a loan value of 36k...hope it is as good of a deal as it appears.

Sounds like a hell of a deal Mac, Let's hope it gets better mileage with different gearing.

There was a bunch of rigs going to Badlands today to wheel. Had I had my rear hitch on, I might have gone, but with this rain, Badlands is bound ot be a mess. Just seen one of the guys is a stock 2 door XJ with no rear tow point. All Terrains tires and mud.....I know how that is going to end.

Traction at badlands isn't that bad. Lots of sand makes the mud pretty grippy. Not sure about on AT's I've always ran mud tires because it is Indiana.

gonna start on making removable doors this week for the jeep.

the girlfriend asked me to take her wheelin next time i go. thats one of the best things ive ever heard a woman say.

This is their menu. Finnish and American fare.

Speaking of the U.P.
-Lac la Belle Lodge, Lac la Belle, MI. Good food in general
-Carmelita's, Calumet, MI, Great Mexican
-The Landmark in Marquette, good food not so much a hole in the wall.
-The Ambassador, Pizza & Fishbowls, shady from outside, Houghton, MI

One more:
-The Safe House. Typical Americana, what makes it is the atmosphere. That is if you can figure out how to get there and how to get in. Milwaukee, WI

Can you all tell I'm hungry?

Hanging out at Gene's while he works on his XJ. He has called the jeep a hooker 72 times since i've been here. :roflmao:

got the title for the truck today.
Next week it's plated and insured so I can start using it to pick shit up to finish it.

Some reason I just find it right to talk dirty to XJ's :)

So today I broke two hub assembly bolts. Destroyed one hub. Discovered both front u joints are totally shot. Destroyed a 1/2 drive ratchet. Purchased two premium hubs. Found out the outer pinion bearings that napa picked out didn't fit. Checked and Advance Auto was also picking bearings different from what I have...both backing plates are destroyed and going to scrap. Returning extra incorrect bearings, changing u joints and hopefully finishing this thing Sunday.

And... The front uni-frame rail is bent 15 degrees including the steering gear box.

What a day! Beers for me!

I played the pinion bearing game one time. in he end Advance gave me the wrong ones and NAPA figured it out.

Just remember, it's a hobby and it's supposed to eb fun.

What did you expect from horse trading with Egghead! He probably traded something else for it, who knows what's been done to it.

OTOH, feels good to be back wrenching on stockish stuff, doesn't it :D

and if you have the extra time you can use it to do a little human trafficing on the side....but probably hauling Americans to Cananda at the rate people are showing satisfaction with our current President.

As far as trading with Egghead goes, I don't think either of us would trade something to each other if we knew it had a catastrophic issue. Both of our Jeeps needed some major TLC.

It's all good. And BTW wrenching on little jeeps is a PITA. I'm motivated to get back to 6" just because of it.
